This has never been an issue. The only forced update at least on PS is if the game is live service online. Stuff like destiny. Otherwise just put your disc in and play.

Google data mines the fuck out of me, even with all my blocking of ads. So yeah I think YouTube without ads is fair trade for all the money they've made off my data. They don't get my money as well as being able to do whatever they want with my data.

All the replies to you so far don't seem to give a shit about cyber security. As an alternative experience, I've had a supervisor that was friends with the IT guy and together they bypassed the content filter. And not for porn or anything, for like games like wordle being blocked. They were both instantly fired when found out. Granted, this company dealt with financial transactions flowing through their network so had additional scrutiny and laws to follow, but this is basic security that any company should follow.

I use https://10minutemail.com/

If it's blocked and I don't care enough use my normal email, the site isn't worth it imo.

I by default have hide read and mark read on scroll and browse new. Sometimes a post that I want to go back to gets marked as read, and it seems the only way to show the posts again is to dig through the settings and disable hide read. In the action bar, there's a hide read option. Is there any way to put a show read as well, or have the hide toggle depending on whether read posts are being hidden or not?

While this is good, I'd also like see a ban on charging you to pay your fucking bill. A lot of creditors are still charging extra to pay online or over the phone.

9am to 9pm 6 days a week. I've done similar in the US, but for a month or two due to staff shortage. Fuck that as a permanent schedule.

I also got this on my stand alone roku. And it's forced arbitration. Only way to opt out is by sending a written letter saying you don't agree. If I can be forced into an agreement with a click of the remote, opting out should be just as easy.

I deleted my Facebook account the first time they said you'd have to link your oculus account to Facebook and were banning new accounts people created to do so. I just converted my oculus to meta and still don't have a Facebook or Instagram account.

should have a right to claim a cut of the advertising or not have the information shown.

Seems like Facebook is not going to show their content. Guess they'll see if that brings more or less people to their site. And seeing as they're already complaining, I think they already know the answer.

I'm watching resident alien right now and it's the same smile as the alien pretending to be human.

During oral arguments before the D.C. Court of Appeals in January, the former president’s lawyers argued that presidential immunity should cover everything, even having political rivals assassinated.

Maybe Biden should take one for the country. You know the court would rule against absolute immunity for something Biden did. And he's old enough, that he probably wouldn't even see jail. No more Trump, no question as to if the president is above the law. Win win.

For example I'd like to browse all of the gaming communities at the same time. [email protected] and [email protected] etc. Something like all or local but for custom user created groups. This wasn't really an issue on reddit, but would be useful the way lemmy works.

Never got this warning on the reddit version. Its a Samsung S10+

Currently running Kali on my laptop as that's all it was used for. Looking for something more general purpose. Mainly steam for light gaming and being able to install the tools from Kali for stuff like tryhackme. Mostly familiar with Debian, as that's what Kali is based on, but willing to try something else. Laptop is this Acer.
