There are a lot of indie games that suffer from this imo. Might be because they don’t have enough testers.

Those games have a tough start, but if you can get over the initial hump then you can do pretty well in later level. That is until the final boss where shit hits the fan again.

I played Bg3 on easy, no shame, but I think I missed out on secondary class. I think that’s not available on easy.

I like this answer, sometimes I just want to feel like a god in an rpg, but most of the time enemies scale with you in most games

This is such a good answer. I remember playing it on easy back in the day and the final boss still kicked my ass.

I am making my way through Yakuza series right now and while playing 5 I realized that I am not that invested into the game’s combat, so I turned it to easy and that just streamlined the combat so much for me. I would recommend to maybe try Yakuza 0 on normal at first and then just switch it to easy if you feel like the gameplay might be dragging on.

I think that’s how most people feel about their first monster hunter. I played Tri Ultimate first and I feel like games have been easier since then.

I was thinking something similar today regarding this simple post I saw on Reddit. So there was a post about the owner cuddled up to its elderly dog downstairs at night because the dog has a hard time going up the stairs now. It was a cute pic and that should be it, but it made me irrationally mad when someone asked, “why can’t the dog sleep upstairs”. Like stfu dude, there are plethora of reasons, but would getting your answer really change the perspective of this post in any way?

I love Lemmy, but the general consensus of “fuck big corpo no matter what” attitude is kinda tiring. This is completely reasonable for Rockstar to reject the counter offer. Not to mention, Heaven 17 is not some big band to begin with.

Also, France top 10% are at 60% and US top 10% are at 75%

You’re right, achievements are excessive in some games, that’s why I don’t rely on them too much. I like the idea of short term goals though, and if those goals seem “fulfilling” then I can use them as my completion milestones.

Thank you! I also have a big board game collection, and that sounds genius and fun, I will start doing that with board games. And I can also see it being applied to some games.

This is just to keep a tally for myself. I don’t force myself to keep playing if I don’t like the game then I just stop (skul was the most recent game that I just stopped playing). Just wanted some milestone for these odd genres for fun.

I like to keep track of my games that I have completed, with most of the games it is pretty easy. When the credits roll, I consider them beat, there are a few exceptions of course like Nier, Resident Evil 2 etc. What I struggle with are fighting, racing games and 4x games. I enjoy these genres, but I don’t know what is “satisfactory” amount that would make me think that I played these games to completion.

Some examples:

  • Guilty Gear Strive (or any fighting games that are not Mortal Kombat, injustice or SF6)
  • Civilization 6
  • Project Cars

I’m currently playing Xenoblade Chronicles and I also played Final Fantasy remake and Golden Sun recently and all of them have wildly different combats. Which got me thinking what JRPG out there had the best combat? This doesn’t mean that it’s necessarily your favorite JRPG as well.

My favorite is Persona 5. I just love figuring out what the weakness of the enemy may be and making sure to arrange my party in such a way that I can handle most combats very easily.

I don’t mean that the joke just isn’t funny, I want to know a joke that almost makes you want to fast-forward through the scene.

Hi everyone,

I am holding a fun little tournament locally and letting the community vote for game in each category. So far we did 3d fighter, platformer fighters and traditional 2d fighter. For the next category I’m thinking about doing wrestling style games and so far I can only think of Fire Pro Wrestling, Gang Beasts and WWE 2k. I can use some more suggestions here. The game should be playable on PS5, Xbox series or switch. I also have an Nvidia shield pro, I have never played anything on it, but I’m willing to try some emulation options if needed.

Thank you in advance!

I had this shower thought earlier and I actually wanted to post it in that community. The name I came up with was SmartWalkman, but later I realized that Walkman is Sony specific, so I doubt other companies would’ve gone for that name, but I didn’t want to let this shower thought slip so here I am now asking you guys.

Hi Everyone,

First time poster here. I was wondering if the sound quality of my PC can go to the next level with some minor purchases.

My current setup: Motherboard: MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk Headphones: Philips Fidelio X1S

I was looking to get an external DAC/AMP combo, but wasn’t sure if it’s worth it.

Thank you to everyone in advance
