I find with a lot of apps like that they're glorified web browsers, which means that most of the time you can just use their mobile site. One less app collecting data, draining battery etc

As far as I can tell based on articles I've read, he really wanted to run, but the party was getting divided over calls for him to step down. He must have figured that the infighting would take away his incumbent advantage

If you're happy being there and they're happy having you, then stay, you're pocketing so much more. Since you're employed, just make sure your family is taken care of, chip in for groceries or a new TV if they seem to need it.
