I recently made a comment to the effect that if you’re from China, Russia, or the US you’re used to your country getting away with anything it likes and zero repercussions. As a result the populace is not psychologically prepared for things to go wrong compared to pretty much everyone who lives in the third world. My comment made people very angry, it was weird.
A lot of people in those countries are experiencing a whole lot of "things going wrong"
But not a security "situation"... closest US came in recent history was 9/11. Then two wrong countries got invaded and country got looted. Now we are paying our tolls.
A fair distinction, albeit not clear in the comment I replied to.
