From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Pop I actually daily drive on my laptop since it works really well, especially with trackpad gestures and stuff. I like the look and feel of cosmic so I keep it.

The others definitely agree, although I do find Mint to be a great point of entry for people coming from Windows.

I've been daily driving pop for about 3 years now on my desktop built with components from almost 6 years ago. Much smoother of an experience than Ubuntu (yes pop is derived from Ubuntu) and tiers above the rest.

Agreed. I love Pop
