Chores are chores and a horse is a horse of course, of course.

Wow, never expected to see a Mr Ed reference in this day and age.

yikes what the actual hell, it is seriously disturbing how many people in the comments feel this way

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

From personal experience I can say depression, anxiety, constant pain and any disease that affects your energy levels will make you feel like this.

When you wake up feeling completely done everything after is effort.

I know why people feel this way, its shocking and upsetting so many people do

I hate this feeling. I wish I wasn't so lazym I need to shower more but it's so much work

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

I kinda struggled with this. I wasn't able to get up and shower unless I had to be somewhere. The shame overrode my broken brain and that's basically how I survived university.

If you’re addicted to a substance seek help for it.

This was my life when I experienced addiction.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

i'm not addicted to anything yet this is me. (i have ADHD and insomnia)

It's not going to be a fix for everyone, but if you feel like this guy, you should check to see if you've got the rare form of the MTHFR Gene, which means you'll be up to 80% deficient of methylfolate.

Methylfolate is what our body turns folic acid into. It's a base element that our bodies use to function properly. If you've got an extreme deficiency, well, things just aren't functioning properly. People affected with this will have lived with these issues their whole lives.

Now, up to 60% of the population has a mild form of MTHFR, so the gene itself isn't uncommon, it's the rare form you'll be looking for.

Anyway, getting on a high dose of methylfolate changed my life, life from night to day, I'm not kidding. I still take medication for anxiety and depression, but the methylfolate helps them to function like they're supposed to.

Again, it's not a fix for everyone, but on the off chance you have it, I'd check it out.

Ah, you mean one of the many genetic/biochemical abnormalities which are heavily associated with ADHD/MDD/Schizophrenia/Bipolar/Parkinson's/Alzheimer's/etc., sweet... it can join TAAR1, SORCS3, ST3GAL3, DRD4, DRD5, rs4680, rs6265, FXS... I think that's enough "let's see what kind of fucked up genetics can cause your mental disorders" lol

Shot, speak for youself. I'm so damn tired all the time I can fall asleep any time, anywhere, if given the opportunity.

Have you ever checked for hypothyroidism? I was feeling exactly like you described for 2 years. Then, with a blood test, I discovered I had hypothyroidism and started treating it. Feeling a lot better now.

I'm pretty sure it's actually delayed sleep phase disorder. I have a naturally nocturnal sleep cycle. I feel energized at 2am. But I have to work during the day.

But also, I work 60 hour weeks, which is draining no matter what your sleep cycle.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I have a naturally nocturnal sleep cycle. I feel energized at 2am.

Some scientists say we all do, and trying to sleep just the one eight hour cycle is actually not the best way for us to sleep, but instead two 4-Hour cycles works best.

That's why a lot of countries have an afternoon break, and then they work into the early evening after the break.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 6 months ago

Nah, most people are energized by blue light, 9 or 10am is peak productivity. At least from the research I've seen.

[–] [email protected] -2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

If you focus on getting good sleep everything else falls in place.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

This is not true for everyone. We all have different reasons for similar feelings like this. I sleep great but still feel like this. Oversleeping is also a sign of depression.

For me, getting my diet under control and truly understanding what my body needs has helped tremendously (more fiber/protein, less carbs/sugars). Introducing daily probiotics has helped too. It really is amazing how our diets affect our moods.

For some, regular exercise may help. For others, sun lamps help with seasonal depression. Sometimes you need medication. Sometimes weed helps.

Always talk to a professional. Try different things until you figure out what works and what doesn't.

Wow, sorry I didn't cover every possible aspect of the human experience in a silly comment on a comic. Fuck me, right?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

People dealing with these types of issues are just a little tired of hearing "just go for a walk, drink some water, and go to sleep" from everyone, nothing personal.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Lol when you're constantly told that the solutions to your sleeping disorder is to "just go to sleep", or that you can overcome your ADHD or depression with "just focus" or "just do the thing", it gets pretty tiring. And that is the experience shared by this post, and the experience that the majority of the people in this thread that also relate to the meme have.
