That is...an interesting array of products.
Anyone living in 90's in postsocialist countries would not be surprised with how much alcoholic beverages overlaps with petroleum products.
Fun fact: drinking alcohol (read ethanol) can be used as fuel for combustion engines too
Yeah i know. In rocketry V-2 for example was running on ethanol/water mix with liquid oxygen as oxidiser. And experiments with ethanol based fuel for other kind of engines too never stopped entirely, though the results are rather underwhelming, at least for mass usage.
Modern gasoline is roughly 10-15% ethanol in order to prevent thermal damage to engine parts and to support performance in cold climates.
Do you know of more examples?
I mean people were really making booze and drugs of absolutely everything possible, including famously, rocket fuel.
Wdym? They provide all the necessities of a construction site. You can build a house with ancap cement, run the machines on ancap gasoline, while the workers sip on ancap beer. Makes perfect sense to me.
Concrete ≠ cement
Petroleum, cement and alcohol are the basic elements for every good party.
