MOSCOW, Aug 16 (Reuters) - Russia's ambassador to Washington said on Friday that he did not believe Ukraine would have attacked the Nord Stream gas pipelines without the tacit approval of the United States, and that Russia would identify and punish those behind the attack.

It's a diplomatic disaster, which, if true, possibly cost Ukraine its EU membership.

Edit: You dumbos seriously don't understand how attacking one of the key EU countries, the biggest EU supporter & biggest Ukraine supporter in Europe, could possibly cost you your future membership? Jesus fucking hell. What the fuck do you need explained here?! This could've easily been grounds to enact Article 5. Imagine Germany attacked Ukraine. Would you still call that a good deed? You people have absolutely no fucking idea about diplomacy, or anything, really. But keep circlejerking yourself off. I'm sure that will help you and Ukraine.
