It must be very easy for you to cite examples then, yes?
Trail of Tears was a shitty thing, but it was literally not illegal, and he had the support and direction of Congress. It wasn't like, a pet project. It was a popular policy at the time and not a scandal until later.

I already replied to you with a whole video full of examples, why are you pestering me again? https://youtube.com/watch?v=5BXtgq0Nhsc&si=bAB0syFHw1sN6g6q
Noam Chomsky is not a source lol
Reeks of desperation on your part. Let’s see your better source arguing that no presidents ever did any crimes.
I don't need to prove the negative. Burden of proof is on the person making the claim.
You’re making the extraordinary claim that no presidents have ever done a crime until now, also I’ve provided you a list of many such crimes which you are free (but not able, perhaps?) to research yourself
I didn't make any claim, and I think it's reasonable to assume some Presidents probably committed crimes. There have been a lot of them, during some very corrupt times.
What I did was ask you for examples, and you specified the last 20 years. I'd love to hear those examples.
Obama bombed a Doctors Without Borders hospital
No, Obama authorized military strikes in an active warzone and due to miscommunication - which happens often in war - a hospital was bombed.
Again, not great, and also not a crime. Bad things happen in wars.
Do you have any actual crimes to bring up?
So you support bombing hospitals?
It is illegal to bomb hospitals under international law. Obama did that and it’s pretty much impossible that it was an accident. The internationally recognized and Nobel prize winning Doctors Without Borders organization made it entirely clear what their location was, Obama decided to bomb it and they kept bombing even after being called up and informed that it was in fact a hospital being bombed. Crime against humanity.
It's illegal to intentionally bomb hospitals.
Also citation needed on "Obama decided to bomb it and they kept bombing it"
Because here are the actual facts:
Bad things happen in war. That's why war sucks.
A NATO investigation is not "your local police investigating themselves" and you'll note numerous Americans were notably charged, via our military, with war crimes and severely punished.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kandahar_massacre
Any actual crimes, from a President, to bring up? You didn't get me that citation on Obama's personal authorization, either.
Yes it is. Ohhh that reminds me of when Obama and Hillary decided to destroy the country of Libya and then NATO refused to participate in post war investigations and threatened the UN that they’d better not find any evidence of NATO war crimes there lol
They didn't destroy Libya. Gaddafi did when he massacred his own people during an already-ongoing civil war. NATO did nothing but impose a no-fly zone, because Gaddafi was massacring civilians with helicopters.
NATO also had obtained the voted support of the UN Security Council to impose this no-fly zone.

Did you want the US to invade Libya? Cool, me too. Would've saved Libyans from slavery. The international community didn't want that.
Highly relevant - this wasn't even US-led:
So not only not bad, and not illegal, but also not even a US mission.
Why is Sarkozy in jail again?
For bribing judges and illegal campaign funding. How is this relevant?
Also, fuck Sarkozy not just for that but for this:
Where did the Illegal campaign financing come from?
Man if you look it up, a fucking lot of places. The Libyan guy's money he stole was only one piece of it.
Dudes a real shitbird.
Why do you think France, under the leadership of Sarkozy, largely led the initial effort against Libya?
This isn't, as you say, a US led mistake. Also, the treatment of the franco-sphere areas of Africa are extremely horrible. France is not a country you want to be a colony of.
You don't have to justify the murderous actions of another countries empire.
I don't think it was a mistake. I think the UN should have occupied Libya after Gaddafi fell.
I definitely agree re French colonies. Maybe the worst thing about colonialism is the total lack of responsibility colonial powers felt after their colony was "liberated," because it will impact so many more generations than the actual colonialism.
That being said, Gaddafi was a murderous tyrant and I'm glad he's dead.
Also I doubt very seriously Sarkozy supported that intervention to get that money, since he would have gotten that money without said intervention and also because the money wasn't tied to the intervention but to oil deals. French imports of Libyan oil have declined precipitously since the intervention
https://www.statista.com/statistics/459740/france-total-amount-petroleum-imported-libya/
Declined further than domestic production

You keep insulting me as if I'm going to feel bad about knowing more than you. Conspiracy theories aren't a good look. Real life is complicated.
You don't know more than me. You think you do because you believe US propaganda, and only US propaganda. You take it at face value and get sanctimonious about people who actually do know more than you.
Cause that would go so well. It went well for Korea, Vietnam, Haiti, Iraq, Afghanistan. I mean hell, name one American occupation that has gone well. The only ones I can think of are Japan and Germany. Both of which notably never really punished the financial elites in those countries for their crimes. But that is a distraction. Can you name me an American Occupation that didn't result in horrific war crimes, or resulted in a stable government in the last 80 years?
This is why some of the others are calling you a monster.
Also, and I know pre-emptively you'll ignore this and call it a conspiracy theory, but to be pedantic, Sarkozy didn't need more money, he already had it. It was to destroy the documentation for the money that he had already received. It was to destroy the evidence.
I'd also love to see your blood thirst be applied evenly, because it isn't. Frankly, the worst country in the world by basically every metric, we're perfectly fine with. Specifically Saudi Arabia.
You’re an extremely disgusting human being lol. At this point you’ll excuse the worst crimes against humanity imaginable because you think doing so is owning Trump
Nope I just know what reality is.

It literally was illegal, the Supreme Court said so. And Jackson said suck my nuts and did it anyway. And not only did he not get in trouble, they put him on the $20 bill. And now Trump took some papers to the bathroom with him and they want to put him in jail? Typical democrat double standards!
Lol no

Hurrr de durrr durrr you didn’t read far enough into the timeline I guess. You do know that the Supreme Court rules on laws after they are passed and not before, correct?
Actually you didn't read far enough. Here's the actual decision:
You’re literally making excuses for crimes against humanity to own Drumpf, maybe take a step back?
I literally did the opposite of that, and called the Trail of Tears bad. My actual words:
Things can be very, very bad, and not illegal. Chattel slavery was totally legal and not morally defensible
You called it a crime and it is not.
Do you have actual crimes, like Trump is accused of, or are you going to make up more nonsense?
The Trail of Tears was a literally crime against humanity you fucking psychopath
"Crimes against humanity" are a rhetorical device, and most assuredly weren't an actual thing in the 19th century, while chattel slavery existed.
This is why King Leopold wasn't brought up in an international court on crimes against humanity - that didn't exist.
I'm just going to assume you don't know of any actual crimes.
Why are you making excuses for slavers and genociders? Very gross
You're dumb, but even you aren't dumb enough to actually think that's what I'm saying, when my own words state the opposite.
Literally you’re saying that Trump taking papers to his house is worse than slavery and genocide.
No I'm saying it's actually illegal and those things weren't.
Might wanna give "ex post facto" a quick Google.
Clinton blowing up the only pharmaceutical plant in the Sudan wasn’t illegal? What about Bush making up lies to invade a sovereign country and kill a million people?
Do you have anything, anything at all that is
1: domestic
2: actually illegal and not just a thing you don't like
Are you not tired of me constantly proving you wrong, with citations?
Are you not tired of excusing war crimes? How is a crime comitted domestically worse than murdering and raping abroad?
Well for one, given the things you've brought up, they'd be actual crimes and not just "things I don't like that I lay at a given President's feet because I don't understand how the world works."
Actual crimes, like the 91 felonies Trump committed and admitted to.
Is Putin invading Ukraine a crime?
I doubt it pretty sincerely. But his methods of war constitute war crimes, currently. More to the point, it's antagonistic to US interests so I hope we scale up to bombing there, or at least enforcing a no-fly zone.
I'd love to call Putin's bluff.
Every American president since WW2 is guilty of war crimes. I hope that president Xi launches nukes at Washington DC and calls their bluff.
President Xi would never bomb China's single largest trading partner during a time of extreme instability within the Chinese economy. He's a monster, not an idiot. Even Putin isn't that dumb, and he just started a land war in Asia (a classic blunder).
The US would most assuredly defeat China in any prolonged war. Even just imposing economic sanctions, probably worldwide given it would be an actual of unprovoked and extreme aggression, would cause China to collapse even if no nukes were actually exchanged.
No one is going to nuke anyone because of MAD, enforced worldwide. The danger of nukes is in rogue actors or rogue states acquiring them.
Just FYI youre talking to a 1 day old troll account who has apparently literally nothing better to do with their life but sit on lemmy and defend Trump
Weird, but hey I was bored earlier
