Ah yes, the well-known, reliable, unbiased source known as jewishpress.com.

Analysis / Bias

The Jewish Press publishes both original stories and republished articles from other sources. News is focused on the USA and Israel with an emphasis on the Jewish Community. Articles and headlines are often straightforward and not overly biased, such as this Iran Reports Sunday Morning Accident at Natanz Nuclear Site. Stories are sourced properly.

Editorial content is found under the blog section. The Jewish Press leans right with articles such as this 60 Minutes Deceptively Edits Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis To Push Blatant Smear Job, and this Emes Ve-Emunah: Will Identity Politics Destroy Us? A review of op-eds reveals moderate right-leaning bias; however, news reporting is factual.

Overall, we rate the Jewish Press Right-Center Biased based on editorial positions that moderately favor the right. We also rate them High for factual reporting due to proper sourcing and a clean fact checks record. (D. Van Zandt 3/1/2017) Updated (12/13/2023)

Far better than AlJazeera that gets posted here.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Really? How many Peabody awards has it won? Because Al Jazeera has won four.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

That still does not change the fact they are biased, very much against Israel and owned by Qatar where free speech is not a thing.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

You said this source is "Far better than AlJazeera that gets posted here."

I just showed you that Al Jazeera has won one of the world's top journalism awards four times. What are the accolades jewishpress.com have gotten? Because this post was literally the first time I had ever heard of them. You clearly know about them, so please do tell me about their journalistic bona fides.

It's odd that you care so much about Al Jazeera's ownership and biases but have said nothing about jewishpress.com's ownership and biases. Are they bias-free and owned by an unimpeachable company? Do tell me since you must know.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

No, they definitely aren't ideal but they still have better rating and less bias than AlJazeera.

The fact you win journalism awards does not equal not being biased. Take this example: A person/organisation can win contests despite being biased and spreading misinformation. The fact I spread anti-vax propaganda (I don’t, take it as an example), does not disqualify me from winning a biology competition.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

they still have better rating and less bias than AlJazeera.

From whom? Let's see these ratings and compare them.

A person/organisation can win contests despite being biased and spreading misinformation. The fact I spread anti-vax propaganda (I don’t, take it as an example), does not disqualify me from winning a biology competition.

Once again, you seem totally uninterested in jewishpress.com's possible bias. Why is that?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

You can check mediabiasfactcheck or wikipedia to see inaccuracies in AlJazeera. Or just look at their recent articles to see what I am talking about.

Jewishpress is also slightly biased (but to the right), however much less than aljazeera. Also, it is less factually correct.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

You didn't say anything about inaccuracies. You said bias:

That still does not change the fact they are biased, very much against Israel and owned by Qatar where free speech is not a thing.

Also, Media Bias Fact Check does not say Jewish Press is "much less" than Al Jazeera when it comes to bias. In fact, their bias levels are about equal.

Did you not actually think I would check?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I, of course, thought you would check. The fact that their left/right bias is about equal is true. Issue is how AlJazeera reports a lot of bs (such as not recognizing Hamas as a terrorist organization) in terms of this conflict.

Hence it is extremely biased against Israel and you can easily check it by continuing in the article. That’s why I consider it completely irrelevant or at least less relevant than jewishpress.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

What you said:

they still have better rating and less bias than AlJazeera.

Then you directed me to a website which said they have the same amount of bias.

So either you didn't think I would check or you didn't check.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Yes, they are less biased than aljazeera. What you are talking is only left/right wing bias.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Yes, they are less biased than aljazeera.

The source you told me to look at says they have the same amount of bias. This seems to be a "what are you going to believe, me or your own eyes?" situation.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Of course, believe your eyes. But don't forget to look deeper and understand that there is not only right/left wing bias.

And that bias is usually also affected by the factuality of reporting.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

You said one was more biased than the other. You have yet to show that is the case.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Here you go then: From mediabiasfactcheck.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

That still doesn't show that it is more biased than the other source. That just shows that it has a bias, something no one has denied.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Such a report does not exist for jewishpress. They also have a higher factual score than aljazeera, and so forth we can assume they are less biased.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

We can not assume any such thing.

You made multiple statements saying it was more biased as if it were a fact. You also said that site would prove that it is more biased.

Now you are admitting it doesn't prove it. I gave you plenty of chances and you kept moving the goalposts and pretending you didn't say something when I even copied and pasted you saying it.

So you've been dishonest this entire time.

I don't think we need to continue this conversation. I'm not interested in talking to people who construct elaborate but obvious lies.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

We don't have to keep continuing this discussion. I have proven several times that aljazeera is being more biased and less trustworthy source than jewishpress. It’s very evident from checking sites like mediabiasfactcheck that aljazeera has a lot of bias. Such comments are not present at the report for jewishpress.

To me it seems like you just refuse to believe that something jewish can be trusted more than aljazeera despite being provided with thorough evidence.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I'm Jewish, genius.

Goodbye.

How do you think they got this story wrong?

Because it's not hard to verify that some US Senators really are calling for strikes on Iran.

[–] [email protected] -3 points 7 months ago

Yes because we have such a stellar track record invading middle east countries ...
