“As I have stated publicly, I had nothing whatsoever to do with the flying of that flag,” Alito wrote of reports and photos showing an upside-down American flag flying outside of his Virginia home after the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. “I was not even aware of the upside-down flag until it was called to my attention . . .”

Claiming not to be aware of a flag outside his own house, I would say it’s unbelievable but these are republicans we’re talking about.

Cowards way out, any normal person would be embarrassed.

I can reasonably see that. If someone started flying a flag at my house I think it'd take days, if not weeks for me to notice unless I was going to literally walk into it. Stick a flag on the roof and odds are I won't see it for months

I guess if your wife is the traitor it's not a conflict of interest to rule in favor of her Co conspirators

How is it that a sitting Supreme Court Justice is flying the flags of those who have and will again attempt to overthrow the lawfully elected government of the United States, and we are merely discussing recusal? Can you even imagine the response if a liberal Justice had flown a CPUSA related flag in the 1960s or whatever?

Things are rotten.

It wasn't your wife, dude. We all know that shit eating grin is lying.

A-hole refuses to recuse himself because he's an A-hole.

Got it.

This jackass should recuse himself.

But it really angers me that judges are allowed to preside over cases involving someone who appointed them. Disqualification should be mandatory for those.

Let he whose wife hasn’t flown an insurrectionist flag cast the first stone.

Literally everyone grabs rocks

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago

Well, not Thomas. I would bet his wife did it at some point.

Well then it shouldn't be a problem recusing yourself if you have no stake in the game

What's hers is your, and vice versa. Her responsibility is your responsibility. If you disagreed with her on something as fundamental as fascism and white nationalism, you wouldn't be married to her.
