Are they practicing losing?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I mean they're getting pretty good at it tbh.

😂😂😂 Dude, who loses 200k well trained soldiers in "Practice"?!?!

[–] [email protected] 19 points 11 months ago (1 children)

They don't care. Russians will send every living being they can get their hands on to the grinder if that means they "win".

It's the Russian way.

Unfortunately for #Ruzzia, the US has been developing its weapon systems over the last 60 years for that exact scenario.

Shit is going to get wild in a few months when the F-16s start eradicating Russia's air defenses.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 11 months ago

Unfortunately for everyone involved, sending Russia's undesirable minorities to kill and get killed by undesirable Ukrainians is a win-win for the Kremlin.

Those were eliminated on day one when Ukraine shot down an airplane full of them because Russians forgot air defense is a thing to take out before you send in limited resources.

The rest of them? Vlad got drunk and wound up on the front line instead of the drunk tank.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 11 months ago

drunk tank.

Ie. a T-72

Practice is supposed to make you improve, not fail miserably, again and again.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 11 months ago (2 children)

For a superpower they sure need a lot of practice.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 11 months ago

The USSR was a superpower. The Russian Federation is a mafia-ran gas station with nukes.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 11 months ago

They are praticing keeping their population calm and supportive no matter how rediculous the losses. And they are very successful at that. So they know they can send more millions to die for the smallest gains.

Getting BTFO by Ukraine is embarrassing...

Do they really wanna risk the same with fucking Latvia?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 11 months ago

They're practicing getting their ass kicked, next they'll get their ass kicked in the Baltics.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Who is this jackass? I assume he’s just another obnoxious pundit whose job is to stir the shit, like we have in the US.

That's called News™️ to you buddy.

Brought to you by Carl's Jr.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 11 months ago

I’m the Secretary of State, brought to you by Carl’s Jr.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 11 months ago

ie NATO. Not going to happen.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Imagine being that deluded.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 11 months ago (2 children)

No one is deluded. Russians know shit like this is fake propaganda. Their leaders know the people know. So why keep up the pretense? Because now the people don't trust the media and assume all of them are liars, including Western sources. Look at all the stories of Soviet citizens defecting or visiting the US and being stunned that the grocery stores were actually full and not just US lies.

An exercise for the student: Have you seen this sort of thing happening in America?

(Hint: Our last President literally said, "Just remember, what you are seeing and what you are reading is not what's happening," Trump said. "Just stick with us, don't believe the crap you see from these people, the fake news."

The audience for this is ethnic Russians in the Baltic countries. They want those folks to cause trouble even if they have no intention to do anything about it. Around of a quarter of Latvia and Estonia are ethnic Russians.

Ah the good old Lygen Presse from eh, 1930 Germany...

[–] [email protected] 8 points 11 months ago (2 children)

ü not y, or ue if have no umlaut on your keyboard.

Also 90 years later nothing changed and the far-right still use the exact same narrative, they just sometimes vary by calling is state or system media... as they are -like all good populists nowadays- pretending to fighting the evil democratic system to free all those poor oppressed citizens.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 11 months ago

Ah yeag Lügenpresse, thanks for the correction!

And fuck the fachos ofc.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Hey, greetings from Hungary!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Populists have only exactly one playbook they all follow...

That's also the reason we constantly have déjà vus when looking at different countries. Doesn't matter if it's Hungary's government, Poland's (luckily soon to be gone) government, German AfD, US republicans or whoever, they all operate similiar. Also even if there are very obvious superficial differences that should bring them to different side of certain topics, they somehow manage to be best friends all the time. Because they are one big club united in fighting democracy to gain power.

I'd have to huff a lot of solvents to be able to empathize with Russian views of the world

[–] [email protected] 16 points 11 months ago (1 children)

This is an Elon Musk level of delusion.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Where do you think he gets his taking points?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 11 months ago

"He" in this case works both ways!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

Via Starlink, unless he’s on the Ukrainian frontline.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 11 months ago

Don’t quit your day job, Russia

[–] [email protected] 9 points 11 months ago

Yeah, BS.

Honestly that's the word count this guy deserves.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Who gets Kaliningrad afterwards?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 11 months ago (1 children)

We're not taking it back. We've had enough trouble with the GDR.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 11 months ago

Czechia have already staked their claim. There was some hilarious memes floating around I think 6 months ago

[–] [email protected] 6 points 11 months ago

Failing that "practice" miserably and wants to take on all of NATO.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 11 months ago (1 children)

If the subtitles are correct, lose the quotation marks in your title. That's the gist of what he's saying but you're misquoting this douche and that helps no one

[–] [email protected] 7 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

Good point, fixed. The title was from the translator's post.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 11 months ago

Thank you. I don't think you (or the translator) were had ill intent but I do think accuracy is important when reporting on war

[–] [email protected] 4 points 11 months ago

In that case it is an immensely impressive amount of practice.

I never could go to the gum for two weeks in a row, they are already at it for almost two years!

Someone needs to send him a statue of a miner.
