Terrible build quality ✔️

Over priced ✔️

Competition catching up quickly ✔️

End of Tesla's monopoly on charging stations✔️

A terrible looking and expensive failed launch of a brick of steel✔️

Crazy alt right NEO-NAZI founder who's actively trying to sink every brand he touches ✔️ mate.

The look on Elon's face when it all comes crashing down... Priceless.

Musk isn't even Tesla's founder, BTW. Musk just bought the place.

This is true but misleading. When Musk invested in Tesla and became chairman of the board, they hadn't even begun development on a vehicle. They just had an idea and had talked with Lotus. There's plenty to dislike about Musk. You don't need to mislead.

Tesla rolling in his grave as a wealthy businessman buys in and claims credit for the work of engineers while branding it with his name.

We were hoping for a new Tesla and instead got yet another Edison.

Cars that have never had a style update. Now that they exist in meaningful numbers they look old and tired.

Honestly that’s one thing I don’t mind. It’s a pretty solid design and it works well so why make changes just for changes sake?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago

They just updated one of them, I believe the 3. But that was possible when they had no competition.

It’s not an “end of charging station monopoly” when all the companies are partnering with Tesla for its charging station network after failing to set up one for their own.

That's a weird way of saying that all manufacturers will from now adhere to the NACS or SAE J3400 charge standard, further breaking down the barriers to locked in--or monopolized--charge networks. It's also a very weird way of saying that a common charge standard will further diversify stakeholdership in an already pretty diversified charge network stakeholdership ecosystem.

The plug is becoming a standard. There are still many more stations needed to increase EV usage for people who live in apartments or doing road trips. Not everyone is relying on them for providing charging. It's sad that they're the only ones who actually maintain their infrastructure

Fuckin lmao.

As a Tesla owner...good. Screw Melon Tusk.

At the moment, it doesn't make a ton of financial sense for me to just go buy something else, but I feel ashamed driving this thing every day now and it sucks.

Don’t feel bad. Basically all car companies were once run by lunatic fascists. Henry Ford was total scum. There’s probably not a single German car company whose Wikipedia article’s “history” section doesn’t get horrifying around 1939. I don’t know what Enzo Ferrari was doing in WWII but it probably wasn’t great.

Pretty much as you would suspect. In the late 30s they changed over to manufacturing for the war effort, business was booming for them, turns out war makes a lot of money. Eventually they were making bearings and tools for Germany. Allies found out started targeting their factories and they moved them. Got bombed again after moving.

They rank lower than Volkswagen! I didn't think that was possible given the VW emissions scandal that just happened [checks notes] eight years ago?! My god everything from 2016 onward has just been a giant blur hasn't it

Good, Sweden's strike is still going strong against them.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 9 months ago

I am so ready for Tesla to be unionized in the US.

Yeah? Well fuck those survey takers. You want to blackmail me with my reputation? G-o f-u-c-k o-f-f.

I'm no fan of Musk or Teslas in general. However, my next car WILL be an EV, and I will NOT be purchasing it through a car dealership.

If there's a way for me to buy a Ford or GM without the middleman, I'll think about it.

Obligatory "I hate musk" but a few years ago when I purchased my Tesla it took me a few minutes on my cellphone via their website to place the order. My prior was an Infiniti and that purchase took 3 hours holed up at the dealership while my in-laws took care of the kids for 2 hours longer than than we promised.
