DM me your card details and I’ll send you a couple of pints from my platypus farm.

As a platypus lays eggs and produces milk, it’s the only animal that can make its own custard.

But what if OP works at the hotdog fleshlight factory?

I’ve lived in one rented house that wasn’t entirely magnolia, and that was when I rented my nan’s house to help pay towards her nursing home costs.

Other than that: yep, fucking magnolia.

Brilliantly, not all magnolia is equal. Scratched the wall in my current house, so went out and got a tester of Dulux magnolia to patch it up. It’s a slightly lighter shade 😐

It's never really occurred to me that the US is quite unusual in having fleets of buses dedicated to getting kids to and from school. I wonder why that is?

Because yeah, here in the UK kids either go under their own steam, are dropped off by their parents, or take regular public transport (or a regular bus that's chartered for the school run twice a day).

It’s telling that my piracy of music all but disappeared when Apple Music came along. (Almost) Everything I want to hear is right there on my phone. I don’t have to switch between different services to find artists.

Now, whether such enormous consolidation of the record companies, allowing that kind of setup, is a good thing is another discussion…

Yeah, I’ve thought about this too.

Apple update their OSs annually now because the shareholders demand constant evolution, meaning the devs have to constantly be on top of changes to the OS. And it’s fucking exhausting how badly it affects us all.

At which point he becomes a Republican.

This puts me in mind of Arkell vs. Pressdram.

We used to have media studies at school. I know my brother took it, but four years later, when I joined the same school, it wasn't available to me.

What did media studies actually involve?

Well, what’s left of it.

I've been using the free version of Cold Turkey blocker on my Mac for a while now, but it doesn't offer an iOS/iPad app, so there's nothing to stop me from just picking up my phone to fuck about online when I should be working, so I'm not keen on spending £30 on the full app.

There are other alternatives like Freedom.to, but they want £3 a month / £25 a year, and there's a bit of me that rejects the idea of having to pay a recurring fee for the maintenance of what is essentially just a glorified IP block list. It feels kinda predatory, like those of us with ADHD have been fucked over by apps and sites being designed to be little dopamine boxes, and they have the only solution, but we have to pay for it.

So, do any of you use a similar app? If so, what, and how much does it cost?
