I like to think of it as having low RAM (and sometimes a random program/thought has a memory leak). It's not that someone just fully and completely forgets they put their food in the (muted) microwave, it's that the task is no longer running because they had to pick up the loaf of bread that fell on the floor or maybe their ponytail needs fixing. There's not enough RAM to run Eat Microwaved Food AND Fix Ponytail. With Fix Ponytail running and ending there's enough RAM to run something else but it has to be manually initiated.

My experience watching The Departed while almost entirely sober felt like a face blindness simulator. I was baffled when one of the characters that had been killed came back and none of the other characters acknowledged it. Cool movie but so confusing.

Is this your recent experience with American wireless carriers? I have experience with phone companies and this is not how the big ones work. They did work like this years ago but it's been a while since they have. The big ones right now have a plan per line and additional charges based on add-ons and device payments. So it'll be something like $80 phone plan + $20 device payment (for 3 years) + $8 insurance. Once the payment plan is over the plan and addon's typically remain the same price. If you bring your own phone as a NEW customer the big carriers give you a discount up front or distributed through a monthly credit, but the plan is the same plan. Once the credit runs out it's the same price as everyone else's plan.

Example bills:

New customer with no promotional offers: $25 iPhone 15 (I don't know the actual price for this) $80 unlimited plan $8 insurance $113 total

New customer with trade in promotion: $25 iPhone 15 -$25 iPhone 15 $80 unlimited plan $8 insurance $88 total (I'm not a Nazi I'm just pretty sure this is the price of the cheapest insurance option)

Existing customer who buys a phone from Craigslist: $80 unlimited plan $8 insurance $88 total

New customer that brings their own Craigslist device: $-5 credit for bringing own phone (probably applied for 24-36 months) $80 unlimited plan $8 insurance $83 total

Would you be willing to share some neato stuff about your job with us?

I worked at a retail phone store and say this with lots of passion, fuck asurion. If you have phone insurance through a certain carrier fond of the color red, check if you can bump it down from a $17 dollar option to a $7.25 option. You'll lose a couple useless perks but keep the insurance.

Try squeezing it and seeing what comes out!

I had that too, occasionally it would get infected and swell the entire side of my face it was on. My American insurance (Kaiser Permanente) covered surgery for removing the pit. Highly recommend looking into getting it removed, although I do miss the satisfaction of squeezing it out.
