That is fucking crazy. That is basically two orders of magnitudes less than many other social media apps while still having most of the same functions.

Absolutely crazy to me lol

Cool to see.

I am curious though, does Slackware do anything that other Distros can't?

Is there a reason to choose it over say Debian or Fedora aside from it being around for so long and the nostalgia factor

Access to open source, end to end encrypted technology. Particularly for messaging/ communication.

I bought my Fairphone 3 at the start of 2020. I love it. I love the fact I can dissamble it with the provided screwdriver in two minutes.

I love that I can buy replacement parts for it if anything breaks without having to get some kind of expensive repair from Apple or Samsung. Ive replaced the charging port on this phone and I'll be replacing the battery soon too. Giving people the ability to fix and maintain their own devices is fantastic.

I am hoping to get a decade out of this device and I'm nearing 4 years with no complaints so far. I'm a little bit dissapointed they got rid of the headphone jack on the Fairphone 4. While you can get adapters etc, it shouldn't be necessary imo. That alone is my biggest gripe with that device. Aside from that though, they make great devices and I highly reccomend them

Worked support for an electricity supplier. I was able to see a frightening amount of info about the customers. Even past ones who had moved elsewhere.

We also kept notes about each call, email, web or app chat. So if you were an asshole in the past, everyone will know going forward.

Also fuck landlords and landladies etc. More often than not, they were shitty to deal with.

Also we would often use Google Maps and Streetview to see what your house looked like. We also had pictures of the inside because the installation techs took pictures to confirm that works were completed as specified.

Alll of this was available to us for any reason, at any time with no oversight. And none of it was encrypted. There was also government websites in use up to 2020 that required internet explorer to use and had passwords as trivial as 'Password1'.

I left that job because the pay was lousy and the stress was pretty full on. I respected a lot of people that worked there. Both higher ups and people who came after me. But fuck was there a lot of potential for bad actors or like stalkers etc to mess with your info.

I would reccomend to everyone. Please use password managers. Especially decent open source ones like Bitwarden. Take note of every piece of info that you give a company. From your phone number, address, email etc to even when you contacted them. Also try to not have your home look like an abandoned hovel on Streetview lol. Easier said than done I know. But it may affect your dealings with support people that you need help from. And lastly, please dont use Password1 as a login. Ever. Like please.

"Can we have something like multireddits please"

"Can someone explain how the Fediverse works"

"I'm making a new Lemmy app"

"I can't wait for [x] to make a Lemmy app"

"Wtf is a tankie"

"Rule"

"[A meme about being trans]"

"[A meme about being neuro-atypical]"

"[A meme you have seen reposted a dozen times elsewhere]"

"I miss Apollo"

PS, I dont mean this in a bad way. I love Lemmy and it is hugely encouraging to see so many people use it. I'm just poking fun at trends I'm seeing emerge.

Went down a bit of a rabbit hole here. Very interesting. Would love to see a Vsauce style video going into various real life examples of this

Thanks for sharing.

Up until now, System76 only sold whole systems and onlyshipped them within North America. Now they will sell a variety of components to 60 countries. Including their Thelio desktop cases in three different sizes

Yeah fuck this move. Seems incredibly short sighted and a huge fuck you to the community.

Personally, I would really like to see Valve add a video capture feature. Like how on Xbox and PlayStation, you can press a button to record the last 30 seconds of gameplay. Something like this is almost impossible to do conviently on Steam Deck and just Linux systems in general. Valve adding it in natively to the Steam UI would be absolutely amazing.

Anyway, what features or improvements would you like to see on Steam Deck?

Ive just started Final Fantasy XV and have been quite happy with it so far.

Over the past few months, I played through all of Fallout 4, Fallout New Vegas and GTA V. I'm trying to clear my backlog before I buy any more games lol

So anyway, what are you been playing on your Deck?
