Source? He kept up mask mandates, closures, and vaccine recommendations.

I’m no republican but I’m not about to not give credit where it’s due lol. Our red state behaved quite blue during that time.

Ohioan here.

This came at the consequence of a nebulous “anti foreign funding” bill for ballot issues. Sounds harmless but 1) we already have laws against this and 2) republicans’ story around the abortion amendment that passed last year is that it was funded mostly by out of state entities, so we know that’s a card they want to play with more force.

Mike Dewine is a republican but is truly prolly the most moderate guy I’ve seen on that side of the aisle. He did a really good job of handling covid here, and other than the usual republican stances on weed or abortion, he’s generally likable.

That said, our republican legislature is not likable. They fought tooth and nail to keep from even having to make this decision, and when they finally did, they had to do it on their own terms.

What are the chances you and OP have swapped drinks?

Low, sure.

But not zero…

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago

I mean I’d sign onto that. I don’t want it to be just you and me striking tho lol. That’s the problem really, organization.

But ultimately we can both strike and vote, and whether or not I’m on strike I still intend to vote democrat this November

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Okay, then how do you recommend I vote this November?

Make no mistake, I’m not asking you to tell me how to vote. I’ve done my homework and research into my local, state, and federal candidates — including the president. However if you are privy to other information that could lead to a more democratic society come next year, I am absolutely all ears.

Seems like a great idea: remove more democrats from politics. That’ll sure preserve our democracy.

Resign over what?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 6 months ago

Setting aside the fact neither exist… in popular mythology, god is generally responsible for far more atrocities such as genocide, plagues, etc. Satan or the devil on the other hand is largely a scapegoat created by god to blame for the evil he creates in the world.

Mythology is some crazy stuff

I actually want them to pay his legal bills. I want the RNC to get grifted as hard as all the civilians who donated to him, and subsequently spend money they’re never going to see again. Best case scenario it leaves the RNC in a financially precarious position, ready for a quick and easy death.
