Kind of? I think it mostly lives outside of time iirc, but it's been some...time, since I digested it all. It definitely originated in the future though, you find out in the Endymion books.

I love a scifi series called the Hyperion Cantos that has a supernatural creature called the Shrike that impales people on a "time tree" to steal their Entropy. It's not at all adorable though.
(major death of the author tho, and the 3rd/4th book get pretty problematic)

I used to think it was "limbels", no freaking idea where I picked it up either. I still use it in my own mind. "I can bench 200 limbels"
It's improv, most of the "results" might be determined before hand, but getting there is up to the wrestlers, and the audience doesn't know where the story is meant to go so can stay invested. The damage is fake but the athletics is very much real.
I've been busy for one day and this happens. Federation is a hell of a drug.
