I've been thinking recently about how this sub "doesn't fit" into the overall narrative of reddit. It's "too good" for a reddit filled with liberals and fascists. Wouldn't be surprised if it gets banned.

Russian here. Yeah, I heard about it yesterday. The orthodox church were especially excited about this. In my opinion it's another Putin's political mistake. A sign of short-sightedness and a failure of ideological struggle. It feels like they don't realize at all that this is exactly the kind of thing the west expects from them. Not to mention the problems this may create for the people. Russian capitalists are so disconnected from reality that they don't realize that following clericalism and right-wing politics is a path to failure. And not just for capitalist goverment. The international imperialism are getting stronger because of their mistakes, because of their capitalist reactionary nature and progressive tendencies are weakening. We need opposition to the liberal lies, chauvinism and anti-communism that is represented by the ukraine goverment and its owners. And if that opposition is not present, then international imperialism is already at an advantage. Such a shame. Another evidence that we need a communist powerful state to stand up for the interests of the people.

The point is that you are unwilling to even engage with the idea that Russia seeks to eliminate Ukrainian identity, an idea which is reported by a number of primary Russian sources in a variety of media. Putin himself expresses

To be fair, inside the Russia itself some Putin's words about Ukrainian history are criticized. Therefore, I would not speak for all of Russia. Most of the russian people have an extremely negative attitude towards the Ukrainian right-wing radical government and a positive attitude towards the ukrainian people. And the media is not trying to change these opinions with the exception of a few of the dumbest loudmouths. So your words about genocide are nonsense.
