I understand that this comment isn't helpful, but you're gonna save yourself a lot of headaches by just transitioning to DaVinci Resolve.

This is desperately needed.

I saw sponsorblock-ml and am playing with it using whisperx for transcript/timestamps and ffmpeg for cutting out the timestamps that were detected by sponsorblock-ml then reserving that audio as an rss feed.

It's not great so far though

I've been looking into sponsorblock-ml for an alternative approach

I'm running Debian bookworm on my framework 16, I struggled a lot getting everything working properly so I'm not sure I would recommend it just yet

I've got a 13 at home and a brand new 16(?) At work. On the 13 I've replaced the hinge and the mouse trackpad. It's been great and it's running windows 11. The swappable ports are a GD GAMECHANGER I keep a set in my backpack and I can't count how many times a swap has saved the day.

The 16 at work is way nice, and I love the custom keypad. I installed Debian on it and I struggled a bit at first getting drivers installed... but with the help of the Debian wiki and llama3 I got it sorted. I haven't tried installing Minecraft just yet but I'm confident it would work as I've used Minecraft on Ubuntu before and it was fine.

I believe you can replace anything that's not the mainboard/cpu on the 13. I believe the GPU on the 16 is upgradable which will be nice for gaming.

The only critiques I had about owning the 13 for so long is that there were lots of weird firmware glitches that have been solved over time and it's become a very reliable, usable laptop.

I installed Debian today. I'm terrified to do anything. Is there a single button backup/restore I can depend on when I ultimately fuck this up?

Im looking for an app for android that allows streaming audio books, downloads ect.

Any favorites? From fdroid or mobilism?

Edit: I have audiobookshelf hosted and a small library, but I want a deeper selection. Im not looking for an audio book player so much as a streaming app with access to anything.

Ive been in a s4s with a guy for a few years after chatting on a reddit share for share community and he went dark a few weeks back so I'm looking for a new s4s partner to help bridge content.

Im not willing to go back onto reddit to find a new share partner so I'm curious if lemmy has one of these? Or is that allowed in general here?

Ahoy I'm in search of a comprehensive sfx pack that will cover most sfx for dnd 5e spells and generic sounds for ambience.

I've been working for a few days to track down and assemble a free soundpack for myself but for the quantity I need for this project it's starting to look like way more hours than I'm willing/able to commit.

I'm currently working on a program that leverages an LLM to match the last few sentences a GM says to a sound from a database.

So that as the dm is talking they can trigger the listener who will snag 10 seconds of audio and convert it to text and submit it to the Ai to match the sentiment to an audio file which will play automatically. The program is actually in a working state... But basically I need to assemble an enormous library of sfx and it's starting to become an issue.

I have 11 dollars to my name and can't purchase a pack from really any of the services that I've found on google... But I don't want this project to die and I want to try a campaign with my friends and really create a cool ambiance..

Any advice for me?
