Technically all Christians have a version of this. Though even in "Bible Churches" it is usually tempered by the second bit below, and processes of repentance and whatnot.

9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— 10 not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister[c] but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.

12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”

I Corinthians 5

15 “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Matthew 18

As an aside, that Corinthians bit spells it out in plain-ass English that any "Christian" screaming at non-Christians about being gay, trans, or whatever either do not know their Bible or only use it when it supports the actions they already want to take.

As a second aside, it is kind of funny what one still remembers even after being out of the church for a couple decades.

Did you try shrinking the photos a bit? I narrowed the browser to shrink them and my phone camera picked up 11 of 12 of the ones in a grid.

top ignoring and turning away the victims of your priest’s rape and abuse

Same list as I dropped on your other post. Took like 30 seconds in a web-search to call that claim into serious doubt. Also, I searched for him turning away sexual abuse victims and found nothing.

Monday’s meeting between Francis and the six victims of church sexual abuse was not the first such meeting between a pontiff and survivors, but it was the first of Francis’ papacy.

“God weeps” for the sexual abuse of children, Pope Francis said Sunday in Philadelphia, after meeting with victims of sexual abuse.

2015 - https://www.cnn.com/2015/09/27/us/pope-francis-sex-abuse-victims/index.html

Pope Francis said he regularly meets with victims of sexual abuse on Fridays, and that while the percentage of priests who abuse is relatively low, even one is too many.

In the evening of the same day, Pope Francis held an audience with Portugese victims of sexual abuse by the Catholic Church.

Every time the pope has turned them away and refused to even acknowledge their existence

Where did you hear that? These articles seem to say the opposite.

Of the many horrible things about having a Trump presidency, one of the worst is that any issue that he brings up can no longer be seriously discussed in certain circles.

Trump knows the best lies are based on the truth, so he called the news fake at a time when many people were just starting to realize that there was a problem. His supporters ate it up and the rest of us can no longer have a serious conversation about it.

Rational, free-thinking opponents of Trump style politics need to stop acting like many of his lies aren't based on a grain of truth. Sometimes the orange clown is going mention real issues.

There should be no debate about whether there is an issue with news media, only how bad an issue it is and how do we fix it when the First Amendment explicitly declares a free press.

The current for-profit news system is tearing our nation apart for money. This is a huge and highly polarizing issue. Frankly I am not at all sure that there is a good fix for it as things stand, but that doesn't mean that we should pretend it doesn't exist and that anyone that mentions it is a secret fascist.

basic HTML Gmail is dying in early January 2024

[–] [email protected] 3 points 11 months ago

I can't speak for others, but I typically don't use email on the PC. When it is more convenient to use the PC, usually because of an attachment, I will log into the browser version.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 11 months ago

Agreed. I've reverted to HTML mode recently when tethering from my phone. The signal is bad enough sometimes that it makes a world of difference. Gmail was virtually unusable until I realized HTML mode was still an option.

Really just time to bite the bullet and acknowledge that it is worth the hassle to switch away from a company that I don't like or trust.

Ah good catch. I wonder if I saw it out of the corner of my eye and thought I had a sudden "brilliant" idea.

What is more mildly infuriating than reading a post complaining about someone else complaining? Adding another level!

Edit: Thanks for replying to my little joke everyone. It has been fun reading the responses. Though it seems like we have a few people that still only read and respond to the title.

Someone should definitely come up with a good rage bait title with happy rainbow stuff in the body.

I have tons of things showing up in my feed from communities that I am not subscribed to.

Is there a way to set it only to subscribed communities or do I have to block any community that I am not interested in?

Also, are there any other side-effects from blocking a community besides it not showing up in my feed?
