LiGNUx, VLC, Firefox w/Ublock, KDE Connect, Dolphin, Kate, KDE. Vim, i3wm, Keepasses, yt-dlp, deluge, freecad, librecad, slic3r/cura. Some of these are clearly redundant or overlap. My use cases vary

Non-foss: Steam library.

I wouldn't spend so much time on the PC if I had to pay a premium for every little thing much like I've experienced with my arts-related hobbies.

Oh man, good rant! My comprehension lost track about 1/3 of the way down just past the Choke reference, but I identified with a lot of it and I frequently think of the mentally ill koala comic in my daily life.

The sad truth I've found though is that the mentally ill koala comics context is what is used to automatically dismiss that final Twitter reference. -and that's why mental illness has a stigma. People use it as an excuse to invalidate other people.

If you choose to do anything but sacrifice your children to Moloch then you are by extension choosing to sacrifice your children Baal!

I admit I'm biased towards C-languages out of sheer personal preference and limited exposure to Rust but I am wondering, are there any major technical barriers to Rust replacing these languages in it's current form anymore?

I know there has been a lot of movement towards supporting Rust in the last 6 years since I've become aware of it, but I also get flashbacks from the the early 00's when I would hear about how Java was destined to replace C++, and the early 2010's when Python was destined to replace everything only to realize that the hype fundamentally misunderstood the use case limitations of the various languages.

Based on a cursory Google search with the terms "bighorn sheep"+"Psychoactive fungi" it would seem they are referring to rumors of a psychoactive lichen that have not been formally identified.

-secondly, you don't want to eat Amanita Muscaria aka fly agaric mushrooms unless you have thorough knowledge of what you're doing. It contains a hepatotoxic compound (hence the deer piss reference in someone else's comment) -and it should not be confused with the Psilocybin containing mushrooms AKA magic mushrooms. They do different things in the brain—The more you know 🌈 🌟

The Democrats should have taken the gloves off after McConnell refused to confirm Garland and ended the filibuster.

since the Democrats don't have a time machine, I just want them to learn from their mistakes. They're still using the same strategy of when they go low, we go high -and we lose.

It also seems to be a testament to how nothing (barring term-limits) is gonna be done. The previous laws and regulations were perfectly adequate until the supreme court ruled "uh-uh." There still seems to be a perceptual disconnect between those not playing fairly and the Democrat~~ic~~ establishment.

“When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.”

This is only the 500th time but I guess some people are slow learners.

Cellular enabled cars are conceptually dumb. That's a hill I'm willing to die on.
