Other benefits:

  • Multiple subscription profiles, so you can organize your subscribed channels into groups. "I want to watch stuff about cars and motorcycles - I choose 'Motoring.'"
  • SponsorBlock
  • No stupid recommendations to drag you into despair, hate watching, and misinformation.
  • Ability to never show shorts.

Downside:

  • Max 1080

I'm willing to bet that if I had rolled into a library and started tossing firecrackers around, I would have been arrested. There is a problem with petty crime on public property; why is there not a police presence? The reason the assholes keep doing this is because they don't experience any consequences, and just closing the doors isn't a consequence.

That would be the reactionary part of an appropriate solution. The preventative part would be to only allow library access to people over 18 with ID (at least during the hours they've instead decided to close the doors to everyone), unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

I can say that with metal frames, you're going to have better luck finding a comfortable lightweight frame at a brick and mortar store, and they're going to be expensive. I personally would not buy metal frames from an online store again. The cheap ones I've had are awful.

If you use a computer a lot, get your optometrist to give you a distance prescription, and a "computer" prescription (which would probably be a few inches past arms' reach). Then buy distance glasses and computer glasses. This is much better - and cheaper - than trying to do the same thing with bifocals.

For frames, I much prefer plastic. The extended nose pieces on metal frames tend to become uncomfortable, where plastic frames will just set of the bridge of the nose. Same goes for the earpieces; thin ones on metal frames can cause discomfort with extended use. Plastic frames aren't going to have screws that hold the lenses in, nothing to get loose or lost or stripped out and unworkable.

Refusal? Inability.

This has nothing to do with “ageism”, which is an statistical idea applied individually.

While I disagree with that statement, especially in this context, I'm glad to see that you understand the difference between discussing statistics about a demographic population (identified by observation of past events) and inappropriately applying those statistics to an individual.

When you said

The elderly need to SIT DOWN. It’s not their planet anymore, and they need to get over it.

You were insisting on specific future actions ("SIT DOWN" and "get over it"). Actions are taken by individuals. Age is a characteristic that individuals do not have control of. It is not a decision, and we don't cast aspersions on people for things they do not have control of.

I think there are better ways to say the thing you intended to say, without being ageist.

You're conflating "elderly" with "racist." Ageism is also a thing, check yourself.

Trump is less of a threat than the people who support him.
