And I think what @sudo wants is decriminalization - that a person who gets arrested for using meth is treated for their addiction rather than go to jail.

Okay, please don't attack me if this is wrong to say, but I wonder sometimes if someone of the people questioning their gender just want to wear / like the things the opposite gender wears / likes without being attacked for it. Like if we just un-gender all the things, some people wouldn't feel "trans" because they can outwardly represent themselves however they want without people judging them. (note: I am in no way trying to illegitimize anyone's trans-ness).

Ranked choice voting!! Let's see how long the two party system lasts when it's not "you have to vote for the lesser evil".

She thinks she is invisible. She doesn’t realize that her moon eyes reveal the void. 🌕 w 🌕 (or in this case 🌕 w ◼️ )

Oh hey, tell your boy that we’re tiling at my house too! I bet he does a great job (when he’s done with his box break).

I agree. I wish more capitalists in charge did!

People using their communities to link to like communities because the fediverse/thrediverse is so vast and it’s not as easy to navigate? Maybe, eventually finding a way to consistently open links to other instances/services in a way that opens it in your preferred instance/service (some sort of protocol or extension). Our profiles on lemmy and kbin are even social media themed, it’s almost like MySpace days. It’s so interesting how cyclical things are sometimes. What do you guys think of my theory? I’d love to hear, even if you think I’m wrong!

from Wikipedia:

The labour market is traditionally characterized by a high degree of union membership rates and collective agreement coverage.

Well, there's the problem. Our capitalists say that's stupid, they'll just lose money!

Yeah, I get what you’re saying, but between more money and a ping pong table, which do you think most people would choose? If they wanted to imply a more casual/fun/less-stress environment, they should have said that, but implying a ping pong table would motivate people to stay is like thinking dangling your keys in front of a baby to stop its crying will keep it happy forever. At least a pay raise is helpful to me.

So ping pong table falls under the third point right? More ping pong = more fun = better culture? Right? /s just for clarity

Listen, speaking as an American, we know Danes have better quality of life, but we’ll be damned if we will sacrifice capitalism to get there! Our motto is “if you’re not working, you’re losing money!” That only applies to the lower ranks, of course.

Seriously tho, I would love to live in a society that expects companies to hold the well-being of their employees over profits (not that these two are mutually exclusive), and the culture is changing slowly, but we’re not there yet.
