It takes like 15 minutes to go from bare metal to login. I built my own PC in March and installed Windows from scratch from a USB drive.
No, if he's not in IT it should not be possible - I don't know what email system you're using but this person should not have the access you're saying they do.
I'm not saying it shouldn't be technically possible (I'm a sysadmin, I know what's possible in a corporate environment), I'm saying your organization should not make it possible.
If he's in some leadership position I'd be looking for other employment and/or reporting that person to your corporate compliance officer if you have one.

Exactly. With the UI/UX of Sync, it just feels like Reddit again (although with way less activity so far, but it's gotta start somewhere).
Sync defaulted us to it. When trying to add an account, lemmy.world was the easiest one to use.
For a lot of casual users (myself included) we don't know any better or why we would do anything else.
Good thing you can change basically everything about how Android looks if you want
