This is just off the top of my head from a bit of experience in KSP, but depending on the thrust-to-weight ratio of the engines, it would probably be able to take off, but you're right, it wouldn't win any fuel economy awards.

Actually I doubt any material could stand that kind of wing loading, and the aerodynamics would probably be all kinds of fucked. Pretty apt analogy for a beginner developer.

I've recently been using the home page on YT (in addition to my bookmark, which takes me straight to /feed/subscriptions) and I've been pleasantly surprised. It seems like the algorithm is generally pretty good at finding similar videos to the ones I enjoy. That is unless I scroll waaaaay down, where it just runs out of ideas. I would recommend trying out your home page, with some light pruning as needed ("Not interested", "Don't recommend channel").

Same here, generally, but I think there are a tiny few people who have a legitimate reason for using TTS. For instance, those whose English skills are lacking, or who have an accent which some might find distracting. Or a person who is self-conscious about their voice but still has something to offer, or maybe those who legitimately can't speak at all. Hell, I support anyone who could narrate but doesn't want to put their voice out there for privacy reasons, or to keep it out of the public space where it will inevitably be used as training data.

I'd still rather listen to the human, because I can't stand any of the "AI" voices, especially those that are used on every fucking tiktok (I stay away from TT, but unfortunately the voices are pretty ubiquitous). It might sound silly but I'd prefer good old Microsoft Sam to the any of these new voices.

One channel I found recently for coding-related topics uses TTS but before I got annoyed enough to close it, I realized that the script was probably hand-written, just narrated by a machine. The video was highly informative, and I walked away having learned some new information. For the curious

Something that sucks about this new wave of TTS is that we get some odd errors in pronunciation that probably wouldn't be there if it was spoken by a human. A missing comma or other punctuation errors will pass a spell check but end up sounding really strange due to the broken inflection. Uncanny Valley stuff I suppose.

AI thumbnails are utter garbage though. All polish, no substance, no love for the craft.

I feel ya. The two most recent titles are anything but the traditional Zelda experience. I do love open-world games though, so I'm cool with both of them. But I do miss the classic Zelda adventure game, where every location has its own theme music and more emphasis is placed on the temples/dungeons. It's a shame Aonuma said that the future of the series is open-world, but honestly it's amazing that they've been able to keep it fairly fresh, if a bit formulaic, for 30+ years.

IIRC it runs worse than BotW which is kind of shocking to me. I mean, yeah the game is much larger in scope, but it runs on the same engine, and you'd think they would have been able to optimize the hell out of it.

I started my TotK playthrough a few weeks ago and I've lost count of the times I've been taken out of the experience when the FPS dips below like 10. And this is with no action happening in the scene. Not to take anything away from the overall product—the game is magnificent—but I'm really curious as to what their lower bound was in terms of acceptable performance.

I haven't been bothered by any shadows, and I think the camera is quite nice (so far), but I'm right there with you regarding emulation. Pretty soon I'm gonna try to dump my own cart and get it working on a more capable machine. I don't need 4K res, or AA, or texture filtering. Just let me get a little immersed without poor hardware standing in my way. And if I want to play it on the go, I'll use my Deck.

You can do as @aeharding said, or check out the links in the OP for the Matrix (and Discord I guess) servers :)

We should be thankful that this thing hasn't been conjured into the real world.

Infinite money sounds great, but if you activate this glitch the Law faction becomes hostile toward you and their aggro range is increased.

There is a similar cheat that you can activate with a cheat code, but your parents need to input the code on the title screen before starting your game. You'll start in "New Game +" with huge bonuses to cash and influence. The Law faction becomes friendly toward you, and the MegaRich are neutral instead of hostile, and they'll even forgive minor grievances sometimes.

I never learned the code so I can't help much more than that. Sorry 😔

Fucking thank you. Calling it anything but "fake" or "fraudulent" serves only to normalize the lie that an "alternate list" is a codified idea. Imagine the place we'd be in if we had normalized the phrase "alternative facts" or whatever phrase gurgled out of that one shithead when talking about the "Bowling Green massacre" that she made up.

Make them hear it, read it, and squirm.

Looks like you have more faith than me that any one republican has the capacity for discomfort. Your patience is really admirable. I hope you continue to keep your cynicism in check, unlike me.
