It get's people talking about the topic, in most cases it really doesn't do much but in some it can disrupt peoples days that much they feel they have to do something about it and the only way to stop most protests are to think about what they are trying to ask for and try and give it to them.

I would guess it would be instance to instance basis and will most likely have to be 100% transparent with what it's doing.

So like I said, if people don't like what they add, we just won't add it. Why should we bend over backwards, also EEE is a Microsoft thing more than anything. It won't kill decentralisation it would just prove that companies like that are shit.

It's why I moved over to Kbin / Mbin lol

I'm glad I have slowly moved away from Reddit, hope we get some sort of Fedi recap stuff in the future as is a really cool idea but glad we don't get forced to use Apps and stuff.

So how would they take PixelFed, Mastodon, Lemmy & Kbin / Mbin? They can only try add a feature and if the rest of the Fediverse doesn't like it, they won't add it to there own platforms,

Yeah and I'm not going to stop using my instance I love it to much, Maybe I will boot up my own personal one if anything. Just glad more people will hopefully understand and can use the Fediverse

I think that is a cool Grandpa 😎😎😎😎😎😎

Less of a public figure than Zuck I was meant to say. I really do hope they have a goodish intent and I'm sure the Fediverse will keep on going with or without META, just really hope to see more of a general audience join us on the Fediverse

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Yes Mbin fixed this, my instance runs a version of Mbin and I love it, sad we are missing a few things from Kbin but the quality is better in the end. I'll have to look at more Lemmy.world communities as that seems to be where most people end up

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago (2 children)

@[email protected] It would make sense for him to be but I guess it might be easier to use accounts that are not so much public knowledge like @[email protected] rather than the head of META themselves. Really hope if it goes well they will possibly even think about doing the same with there other platforms.

I'm on a smaller instance or at least feels small as sometimes we don't have posts for over 10 minutes, How would I find other Communities & Users to follow to get content I may enjoy?

Gaming Websites to help you Track stats, items or story. What do you wish people knew more about in Gaming Websites?

As we've had the latest Chapter 5 stuff we received 3 new games that are here to stay including Lego Fortnite (Allow you to purchase Lego versions of characters), Rocket Racing (Using Rocket League Vehicles) & Fortnite Festival (created by the original devs of Rock Band).

Do you think we could see more game developers trying to release there games connected to Fortnite especially if Epic Games starts making a way for Indie / lower end developers to earn money from releasing games & experiences on the platform?

It's no question that the Steam Interface is slightly outdated, But how would you change it for the better?

I thought I'd try and login to see the new update that @ernest has been talking about but it seems not only have I been logged out but I can't login as when I go into the Login page it just goes to a page saying '404 page not found' is anyone else having that issue?

If you where to try and explain the Fediverse to someone, how would you explain it with it's different instances? As well as explain why it is better in some ways for the future of the Internet?

I want to create a Magazine that would need flares, Do we have a flare alternative on Kbin?

It seems like a lot of people don't post or at least don't post on smaller communities like [email protected]

There are some people won't touch anything to do with open source projects as they feel it might have issues with security. What does open source actually do for security or change how it works?

What are some things that you enjoy or dislike about the Fediverse so far.

Yes I am a gamer, no I don't want to use the Laptop for gaming.

The Laptop in question is the 'Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 Gen 7', I can't out right purchase it outright as any device is way to pricy for me. So it would be an monthly payment through 2 years.

Why do I want the Laptop?
I've been pushing myself to edit videos and have got to the stage that I have registered a company that I'll be doing this under. Sure my PC would do the ok job, it runs the programs I need such as Premiere Pro but I feel a more portable set up might be needed in the future for as my partner wants to go away to so many places in the future, the ability to move rooms in the house when I feel I no longer can work in the room such as my office to the sitting room as well as if it comes to it I can use the laptop for more 'high-end' gaming on the go in my spare time.

Why this Laptop?
Well I saw it on my phone providers website as I was checking when my current laptop is due to finish it's cycle (The laptop I have currently only have 4GB of ram and can barely open the internet) also it cost like ~£40 a month.

How much would I be paying?
The cost on the website is £42 a month with £10 upfront cost.

This does come with a 'bonus' of 2 year subscriptions of Microsoft Office 365 and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
