Yup its installed on the rom too, I tried universal safety net on it but it crashed my rom soooo...

Why you may ask? Simple : Bloat, battery life and the UI (the last one is subjective)

Since I updated my Oneplus 8T to Android 12 I felt like something was wrong. The constant notification to access location for nearby devices despite me not wanting to (no option to disable that easily). All the fucking preinstalled apps. And the ColorOS layout.

Since this version I searched and searched for a good custom rom with good battery life and for now I settled with Jaguar. It's based on Android 11 and the developer is very security conscious. You can even lock the bootloader if you donate.

The problem for now is SafetyNet. I can't launch all my apps because of that.

Am I the only one who felt like this since this update ?

Hello ! I am actually running a dual boot with Windows and Arch. I have 5 disks (3 HDD and 2 nvme SSD) with this partitioning. These are the drives : HDDs :

  • WD Blue 2 TB hdd (5400 RPM)
  • WD Blue 1TB hdd (7200 RPM)
  • Seagate Barracuda 2TB hdd (7200 RPM) SSDs :
  • Samsung 870 evo 512GB
  • Kingston A1000 256GB

And this is the partition scheme that I used so far

  • Windows
    • 512 GB SSD => NTFS for the OS
    • 2 TB HDD (Seagate one) => NTFS for games
    • 1TB out of the other 2 TB (Wd blue) drive (Backups) NTFS
  • Linux
    • 256 GB SSD => ext4 for the OS
    • 1 TB HDD => ext4 for data and games
    • 1TB out of the other 2 TB drive (Backups) ext4

Some problems that I encounter are disk space problems on the Linux SSD because sometimesvI want to install demanding games on it.

Do you have any advice on what I can do to make this scheme better?

Thank you in advance.

I got the exact same problem, i tried to install acpid but i don't think it solved anything (the problem is pretty random). I see that you also have a Nvidia GPU,maybe related ?

The installation process and the fear of frying your computer can actually be a no-no for some users. (Not that it actually happened or can happen but some people are just really scared of doing this type of thing) Like the Linux experiment said : we need to have more accessible Linux hardware like we have Windows Laptops and desktops.
