I'd appreciate a sanity check for what I'm planning to do later today.

I bought a minisforum um890 recently. It has 2 m.2 nvme ports. I have the system running nobara off one drive currently, the other is unfilled. The drive has file system encryption enabled.

I backed up the root folder of my system to a 128gb usb using backintime. I enabled encryption when asked.

I plan to install a second ssd, enable raid 0 striping on the 2 drives in bios, boot from a live USB, then install nobara onto the new raid storage.

After that, i should be able to reinstall backintime then restore my backup right?

That was the ideal, but every ounce of freedom given to the south has been used to torment the vulnerable, so they kept losing supreme court cases and having amendments added to the constition that give the federal govt. more power because its needed their state governments from being evil.

See slavery, the black codes, jim crow laws, womens rights, religious freedom, environmental protectionism, coal mining in appalaicha, etc.

You still cant hold office in 7 states in the south if youre an athiest btw.

For what its worth , the cache locality of Vec<Box> is terrible in general, i feel like if youre iterating over a large array of things and applying a polymorphic function you're making a mistake.

Cache locality isnt a problem when youre only accessing something once though.

So imo polymorphism has its place for non iterative-compute type work, ie web server handler functions and event driven systems.

so if (somehow) the accumulator was an integer, this loop would autovectorize and the performance differences would be smaller ?

Or, just use AI to build better features and detect bugs and security issues.

On a less pessimistic note, what AI features would actually be good in a browser? Maybe stuff like a console where you could ask

"block all the ads on this page" or "download this video" or something

Individuals are responsible for individual crimes, society is responsible for crime.

If you wrote the equivalent of this in software I think linus torvalds himself would personally show up to destroy your pc.

Say Alice wants to open up an HTTPS connection to Bob through a proxy named Earl.

What prevents Earl from reading alices request, opening a connection pretending to be bob, and then opening a https connection with bob pretending to be Alice , and snooping on the traffic as it passes through ?

All the NUCs and other mini PCs I see run mobile processors.

It's a shame because a simple downdraft air cooler with a 120mm fan can handle a pretty high power load and could definitely fit in a tiny space.

Add a few thunderbolt ports and you could have a capable and upgradeable little pc.
