When I hit my own comment one of three things happens

1. Everything works fine
2. The font size get really big randomly
3. the comments scrolls up the screen in an endless loop

The last two get fixed when I exit and re-enter the view, but it can be mildly annoying. Thanks kuro!

It can be a pain to wait for the left drawer to reload every time I enter the inbox. Accidentally signed myself out today because it shows Sign Out instead of the normal options. Can you please fix this @kuro_[email protected] ?

Btw: I absolutely LOVE this app. Have been using it for months and have pointed out any issue i have had. The fact I haven't made any posts is a testament to how much the app truly shines in day-to-day use.

So this post is to explain how to stream from XDCC directly, no VPN or torrenting required. Downloading is also an option since this uses xdccJS. This method works on Android, Linux, and MacOS. It will probably work on Windows idk haven't tried it. For extra help running commands refer to xdccJS --help.

Android

This has basically the same setup as the rest, but you need to download a couple of extra things to make it workable, mainly an x11 server/app (to display stuff).

Edit: major update to the one liner which creates the termux-service, and allows the script to enable/disable the server.

Hit y if it asks, it'll update to latest packages. This will create a script that you can use to easily start the x11 server/app and stream

Usage

To use it, pass the same arguments you would to xdccJS eg. ./xdcc.sh "-h server -b bot -d pack"

note: this is passed as a single argument, so there is no need for quotes inside the args. Just make sure to include the double quotes around the whole string like example.

I found termux-services works well for enabling/disabling the termux server. I updated the command above to take advantage of sv

Other Systems

For Mac: Download Brew to install these packages on command line.

1. Install nodejs and run npm install -g xdccjs

2. Install mpv cli

Usage

To watch a video simply use a command like xdccJS -h server -b "bot" -d pack | mpv -

I won't get into how to find packs/bots/servers as I am lazy, but thats the gist. If anyone has any issues, email the devs, I just figured this out meself.

The left bar nav wouldn't load for me until I added one to my profile!!

If the inbox is loading, you can swipe to open the left nav. After the inbox loads that action just dismisses your inbox, so it does not have the same effect.

After the left nav shows up while the inbox is loading, the subscribed feed either

1. reloads in a couple of seconds
2. doesn't load at all like this

I think this is a bug. Probably should not be able to open left nav when inbox is loading, no?

I made a basic Tasker routine to automate downloading from the SubsPlease site using xdcc. You can also browse and search titles found from subsplease. Tasker itself is not required to use this apk, but all the limitations of a kid app apply. Termux and Termux:Tasker are required to be installed as well as the xdcc project. Let me know what you think and if there are any issues!

Also when i was writing this post, I hit the "eye" to view the markdown version, but it just deleted my "Post body" instead of showing the markdown. When i edit this and hit the markdown button, it reverted any changes made to the post body

After the latest video player beta update, listening to my podcast is impossible when scrolling as it pauses whatever is playing if there is a video playing. The video on the screen is muted, so i think it should allow my music to continue. Is there any way you could fix that? Thanks!

Exit: wait on 1.0.104 it no longer works for me

I'm on 1.0.104 and it won't let me view the blocked settings list anymore? Its just blank when the loading stops

When viewing the seperate upvote/downvote count, downvoting decreases the value, but it should increase the downvote value, since you are adding a downvote.

Also can't seem to get to About Community from the left nav. It just shows a grey box when I click it. If i go to the comm and hit the button it shows how it should.

You can't click links on the About Community page (when it loads). I have to open in the browser to click the hyperlink, its a bit of a pain! Thanks for reading, love the app!!!

Sometimes when going through my comments on the beta it says Report User instead of Delete Comment like it should.

Also can we have the option to toggle off the volume button navigation?
