I just want to play fun games that have a great and comprehendible story.

They would also need to be natively made for PC (along with any other platform that the devs/pubs might want). I understand why console ports exist but one can wish.

Some AAA game examples/concerns off the top of my head:

MGS V ? Fun gameplay, couldn't make head or tail of the story without viewing content from others, and still I feel it's way too confusing.

AC ? Things were in a good direction from a story standpoint at one point in time years ago but they lost it, didn't enjoy the new RPG-like direction as much either. Gameplay was a power fantasy thing I guess. Whether I like it or not is dependent on my mood during the session.

Skyrim ? Fun game, never got around to actually "finishing" the game because there would always be a break and I would entirely forget where and what I was doing earlier.

Souls-likes ? I don't have a problem admitting that my skills are pretty sucky. Effort required to the rewards are pretty bad for me, and there is no particular story that I have seen other than community theories.

I'm working on my years long backlog, in case anyone wants to make recommendations it'll probably take a long time for me to get to it if it isn't in the current list...

That one anyway I lost interest after talking to the interviewer. It was clear to me that he didn't want me, and he didn't even join the call for about 30 minutes.

Had to call the recruiter about 3 times in 10 minute intervals before they connected and said the interviewer will be joining.

Got done with 2 rounds of interviews at 2 other companies, but it's been over a month after that so I assume it's not proceeding further ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I continue my search...

Precisely that's what he wanted to say; look at a display and read what the thought was before they wrote the description ! How naive of me...

I was on an interview call, and I was responding to his queries about a specific tool because that is what was mentioned in the job post.

After 2-3 questions, he says talk about some other tool which is okay, but then he starts asking questions outside of the technical requirements which I only knew surface level information about.

Upon pointing it out to him, he says there may be anything written on the job post, you should know how to read between the lines. I was a little confused, and realised it was not worth it to argue with someone who seemed disinterested in the interview itself.

Edit: wording changes.

My motorcycle.

It was bought due to a necessity.

I didn't quite get the motorcycle I was looking for, and had to settle for this one from a different manufacturer. During the short test ride the problems were not glaring, it was when I rode it for a somewhat long duration that I came to know how bad it was. What's worse is things changed and my necessity to need a personal mode of transport was eliminated, so I barely need to use it daily anymore. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tried getting a few modifications done to make it a more comfortable ride, and while it's better than stock now it's still not where I need it to be.

You and I are part of a very small user set. I would be happy with 5.5 inch screen as well if my SoT can be 8 hours or more.

Are you able to view YouTube at all with NoScript enabled ? When I tried it out last the page itself doesn't load because everything is JS based.

Not quite sure about the On by default aspect; on my non-Google phone running stock android, it keeps asking me to enable RCS.

I keep clicking no because there's a lot of ads pushed through RCS. This is annoying on top of the usual telemarketing stuff you might get due to phone numbers being sold.

What is your threat model like ? Who are you intending to guard yourself against ?

Is it an assembled PC or a pre-built ? Pre-builts may come with some form of tracking. OS support also may be a concern on some pre-builts.

Maybe something like Debian 12 testing might be a good Linux option to consider, of course Windows or Mac are not recommended for the privacy conscious amongst us. Debian is not the most user friendly to get installer image of, but it has a fairly straightforward GUI based setup for a fresh install.

In case Windows is a requirement then probably look into the Tron script, helps automate a lot of things you might need as privacy settings (among other actions performed by the script).

Note: These are to be treated as opinions, not advice.

Any particular resources that you trust to share proper information?

Being in a highly technical field I agree with you in wondering the point of tablets, but I am observing a couple of people -in a local transport medium, use it as a replacement for pen-paper with an added advantage of collaboration on a document with multiple people.

I'm not bothered to check, but tablets might be cheaper than 2-in-1 or otherwise touchscreen PC laptops.
