If counter with: "We'd be well served to remember the long and cherished tradition of settling criminal matters in the courts."

Basically they want the right to commit crimes without consequences beyond the possibility of simply not being re-elected.... But only for Republican politicians. Democrats should be treated differently.

Even then you can still have someone read the source and write a spec for a second programmer to write a library. The programmer never saw the source code but it was still useful. Still legal to do this. If someone dumped original source into the projector could be similarly checked for duplication without breaking the law.

Isn't a big part of the problem how the police respond rather whether they decide to or not?

Seems like a manufacturer problem. I've have the same LED bulbs in my house for 5 years plus with no replacements. Various makes too .Some of them came with me from my old house. No idea how old they are. With incandescent bulbs, I used to have to replace at least 1 a year. I used to keep a stock in the back of a cupboard.

I happen to have seen a documentary that says having 100 is not only possible, it gives you superpowers https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Cqd-_fHdTyA

P.s. If the trend hadn't changed, we'd have been on track for around 16 billion in 50 years.

You are not the only one. We stopped at one because there are too many people. When I was born there were almost half the number of people there are today. I'm 43. In 1980 I don't think there was an "oh my god we don't have enough people" vibe.

Especially in a time where we are all worried about our future on this planet, more people means more sources of pollution. More people want a car, more people getting on planes, more people consuming goods and throw away items.

Seems like sometimes less is more.

I'm sure the answer would be: "Yeah but they couldn't have foreseen how the modern world works 2000 years ago. We need to adapt to the ti... Hang on did you say we can have slaves again?"
