This is true only if you don't have a constant stream of plastic coming in, which you do.

Americans do it regardless of religion

Situational awareness. Read the room and try to anticipate problems in advance, rather than living on autopilot.

Airplane mode is still useful for lots of other things. I'd be pretty upset if the feature was removed.

Networking noob here. I want to prevent all incoming requests except through a specific port, and that traffic is forwarded to a specific device on the network. NAT seems to do that just fine, it's almost like a kind of firewall by itself. What kind of threats are there that requires more than just NAT for security?

Upvoted content is not higher quality. An AI trained only on the top posts of Reddit would be very funny though.

They could filter posts by time, but that prevents any further data from being used which still limits the value of Reddit to buyers. Even all of Reddit pre-AI is probably too small to be useful indefinitely.

Not exactly what I'm suggesting. Glitch tokens could just be filtered out when training AI which would render it useless. It needs to be hard to spot and look like a regular post, which can be accomplished by just having a LLM make comments.

You wouldn't need to make nonsense output. In fact, using output that is hard to distinguish from natural posts would be better as it would prevent poisoned posts from being spotted and removed.

In case you didn't know, you can't train an AI on content generated by another AI because it causes distortion that reduces the quality of the output. It is also very difficult to filter out AI text from human text in a database. This phenomenon is known as AI collapse.

So if you were to start using AI to generate comments and posts on Reddit, their database would be less useful for training AI and therefore the company wouldn't be able to sell it for that purpose.

Why don't you have the battery percentage shown?

The number of times I've seen this accusation in the last year is astounding.

Some have speculated that Nakamoto is an alias for Adam Beck, or one of the other founders. It is known that nakamoto was living in a European timezone.

It's pretty obvious that Tourettes Guy is an actor. But it's hilarious nonetheless

Some could call human civilization a form of superorganism. So you could reincarnate as a city.

I want to add a couple of good ones I've found:

Jeff the Killer lost media: no one knows where the original Jeff The Killer image came from.

Mortis.com: old weird website

Also here's a good website on various obscure computer/Internet related oddities: https://suricrasia.online/iceberg/

I have noticed that some CAPTCHA pages, like Cloudflare's, simply ask you to check a box to proceed. There is no clicking on traffic lights or entering characters. How does clicking on a check box tell them I am not a robot?

Currently, AI models are trained using GPUs. In the future though, Generative AI will probably require its own specialized ASICs to achieve the best performance. This happened with bitcoin mining a few years ago and is also the reason big tech companies are making their own CPUs now.

Since there are only a few companies on the planet capable of producing these chips in bulk, the government could easily place restrictions on the purchase of AI hardware. This would control who has access to the best AI.

Only the government and a few permitted parties have access to the best AI. Everyone else would use worse AI that, while still good enough for most people, could be detected by the government. The government could use their superior models to easily detect whether a post is AI-generated, for example, and provide that insight as a service to citizens.

Effectively, the government becomes the sole purveyor of truth, as opposed to that power being in the hands of whoever can afford the biggest computer.

We spend half our lives online nowadays and it's obviously causing damage to our health. Do you think it would be worth the benefits to stop carrying a smartphone and to disable the WiFi at home?

I noticed that almost all types of cooking oil (vegetable oil, olive oil, peanut oil, etc) contain some saturated fat. Since saturated fat is known to be a contributor to heart disease, then could you simply remove the saturated fats from the oil to make it healthier?

Ideally something you can do with the same people every week so you get to know each other.

Isn't propaganda just a form of persuasion? What about propaganda separates it from advertising or interpersonal communication?

Edit: Not all propaganda involves lying. For some reason, we seem to be more comfortable with a person lying to us than we are with viewing a propaganda poster that uses verifiable facts.

Edit 2: Another interesting note is that in some countries, propaganda is not viewed negatively like it is in English speaking countries.

You have been sentenced to life in a micronation of your choosing (Sealand, Molossia, etc.) The micronation must have actual land and you may never leave that land. What micronation do you choose?

Edit: clarification of the rules. A micronation is by definition not recognized internationally. As a result, small sovereign states like the Vatican are not allowed.

Also you can't just make your own micronation wherever you want. It has to already exist.
