I have explained in the parent comment.
When you donate, a token id and status of purchase is sent to the server (in case anyone donates accidentally, rare I know, requests for a refund for their donation I can match order ID and issue refund) . That's all, no credit card info, email or stuff like that. I wasn't sure if this counts as financial info on play store so just to be safe I checked that box.
Since a lot of you asked me to build an Android version and post about it here when I launch, and I sincerely apologise that I forgot to post on lemmy sooner. The free app was launched on Play store almost a month ago and has garnered some excellent reviews. It has feature parity with the iPhone App and works on all Android 8.0+ devices.

Why?
A lot of users asked for a more polished viewer with more features and users in the EU now can not add web apps to home screen, so I spent some time building an iOS app. You can also save images and videos/gifs from Reddit now. It's stil completely free (with an optional donate option available), the web app also works.

Hey I am the developer of RDX. I don't care what browser you use but reddit does. It's reddit that is blocking VPN users. RDX only makes a call to Reddit's read-only feed to display content without their ads and popups and login restrictions. It does not claim to be a proxy for Reddit.

If you use ios you can add the site multiple times to home screen for that, on android sadly chrome shares localstorage between browser and home screen apps.
