I like Bluetooth quite a lot, but the default SBC codec that comes with A2DP isn't all that great. Even FLAK gets recompressed in an obscure format at medium bitrate.

HD "standards" like... AptX(?) aren't really a Bluetooth standard AFAIK but it runs over Bluetooth so if both devices support it, it works great.

Fun fact, them HD standards are so software based that I got support for three different HD standards when I changed OS.

All I know is that Stux's instances was on the fence regarding Threads until a little meeting with Ruud somewhere in the Netherlands a few weeks ago. πŸ˜‰

I'd be happy to update it with more correct information if you can find more accurate numbers.

From https://fedipact.veganism.social/ the largest instances in order of active users are:

  1. Lemmy.world - Federates
  2. LemmyNSFW.com - Blocks
  3. Lemmy-ml - Blocks
  4. Lemm.ee - Blocks
  5. programming.dev - Federates.

It's owned by Meta, the company that runs Facebook. If you're still unsure about the situation perhaps this can help out: https://erinkissane.com/untangling-threads

Based on data from https://fedipact.veganism.social/ it seems that the majority of instances blocks threads.net. I'm sure there's Lemmy instances with either approach that have slipped through the cracks as the list is a work in progress.

The percentage of users doesn't correlate to instances as the biggest instance on the Lemmyverse has roughly 3x the users of the second largest, a NSFW instance, 4x the users of the biggest "nichΓ©" instance and 5x the users of what I see as the second largest general purpose instance.

gmsCore (microG) is an open source way of using Google Services.

You re-implemented Google Services (albeit open source instead of proprietary), from what I understand you're exactly as vulnerable as everyone else - But you have a giant "I'm trying to hide!" sign painted on your account.

Mercy bo core.

I enjoy making the gaming experience my own, so back before portable radios was a thing (even as a mod) why not watch some lore-appropriate VOD's while gaming?

I'm fascinated by the possibilities that synthesizers and AI brings to gaming, machinima (narrative videos using game engines), streaming and similar.

In this video I'm testing xVAsynth to generate new voice-over lines for "V", the main character from Cyberpunk 2077. The voice model is downloaded from the net, but the lines are generated locally.

I'm absolutely stunned by the level of imitation the synthesizers are at - And keep in mind that this is "outdated" software.

Basically it just displays a stream of Fediverse posts as they come to the server. Says it streams from "Mastodon/Fediverse" and links to jointhefediverse.net, so I don't know what the sources are.

But it's nice to look at!
