I don't want kids so that narrows down the dating pool to something more like a dating puddle.

I generally keep to myself. Every social skill I have comes from deliberate practice.

I did manage to find a girl. What I did:

Figure out what my strengths are and in what situations I get to show them. I get compliments on having a pleasant voice. So anywhere I'll talk some is good.

Work on mitigating your weaknesses.

Work on being a {pick one or more: fun/pleasant/useful/positive/etc} person to be around.

What I did not tell you is how long I had to do this.

Given the opportunity move somewhere where your rent to pay ratio is better.

I'd make more living in a big city. I have much more leftover every month by living in a small town far away from everything.

Increased support for Ukraine.

It's at the moment more important than solving any domestic issues.

(I most likely don't live in your country, only argue for your favored domestic issues if you really have nothing better to do).

Vim, I've not given emacs a fair try yet. At work I've got to use what I've got to use and neither is an option. At home the last thing I want to do is write more code.

When I do have a choice I'm not doing much more complicated things than editing a config file and anything more advanced than cat would do I guess.

I liked using what was then archaic language back in school 20 years ago. I'll be one of the last ones to change.

Average day. But my average is quite good.

That the most important thing is technical know-how.

You'll have to deal with a lot of difficult people in life. There is a huge difference if you get them to put your task on top of their todo list or on there bottom of the pile on their desk.

Winter (north Scandinavia): 10 minutes by car. Options are walking 1 hour or bus+walking ~40 minutes depending on how close you like to cut it on the bus stop.

Summer: option of bike 15 minutes. Not an option during winter. It's okay above -15 C, flat ground, low traffic and well plowed streets. None of those are true here.

No. They can be sued for the opposite too. Generally it's about misleading the shareholders. You can argue that it's about money in the end because who will buy planes that fall out of the sky?

NEW YORK, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Boeing (BA.N), has been sued by shareholders who said the company prioritized profit over safety and misled them about its commitment to making safe aircraft, prior to the Jan. 5 mid-air cabin panel blowout on an Alaskan Airlines 737 MAX 9.

I'd be surprised I'd be allowed in there in the first place, but I guess if Hitler got there the bar to entry is fairly low.

I'd have some questions to ask but I am guessing the complaint queue is very long considering all victims meeting their murderers in heaven and whatnot so I'll just go have a harp lesson or something.

I consider it my civic duty to waste as much of their time as possible. It can also serve as an outlet for creativity and have a bit of fun. Think of it as a reverse prank call.

I think my favorite was when they called on my work phone and I tried to set them up as a customer, with my most pleasant voice asking about their billing address and quoting our consulting fees and that I'd be happy to answer any question they wanted as soon as they were set up as a customer. They told me to fuck off and hung up 15 minutes later.
