Heh, I recently learned that when the Phoenician traders brought Astarte (once Ishtar, soon to be Aphrodite) to the Hellenic empire they also brought their own alphabet, soon to replace Linear-B and become the Greek alphabet we know today.

Yes, the goddess of love is also the goddess of letters.
