I really like having joined Lemmy to replace reddit just to see content about xitter which I never visit or have an account for

I think the position and positive effect that Twitter had for years, especially for journalists, is what makes these news surface more and more often now. Twitter had its bad side but it did what it did well, maybe quite well until they fried to introduce voice chat groups (to mirror Clubhouse if anyone remembers that abomination). Now with their transition to X, we are witnessing the shit era and it will soon be over so hold on tight.
