The trick is to tell no one until you have something substantial worth sharing :)
This is actually really, really good advice for adhd people. Telling people your goals gives you a dopamine hit like actually completing the goal does, so it makes your brain less likely to continue since it already got it's fix.
My lack of self-confidence means I will tell no one then
Exactly. Or never at all because you know eventually the obsession will fizzle out.
Or you'll have to explain and realize you don't know
