I know someone will complain about transmasc visibility again, and I'm sorry, but I don't know what your alternative of a skirt is, please tell me.

one time i ended up wearing a ridiculously oversized afro wig. to the point where when i moved my head it had a delayed tertiary movement. it was so fun. strangers constantly smiled at it. one day it will be in fashion.

reminds me of gintama for some reason

[–] [email protected] 27 points 7 months ago (1 children)

A buttondown shirt and slacks? Idk that makes me feel handsome and masc the same way thigh highs and a skirt makes me feel cute and fem.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Buttondown shirts, or jackets with buttons are wonderful. Men's and women's tops button in opposite directions. Men and women's button downs look pretty much the same. If you're not out, or don't care to draw attention to yourself consider it.

Very few are perceptive enough to notice other people's buttons. But you will notice your own, and you deserve gender affirming buttons.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Honestly what the hell is up with the buttons being reversed tho it keeps confusing me

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago (1 children)

It's the 13th century aristocracy. Button holes were invented then. Any proper lady who could afford these new fashionable buttons would have servants to dress them. The leftward button orientation makes it easier for someone to button your shirt for you with their dominant hand.

Men have to dress themselves, so the buttons go to the right to make it easier for him to button his own shirt.

That's one of the leading theories anyway.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

Ok I see so I just have to ask someone else to do my buttons on fem shirts (I'm a proper lady)

my therapist didn't know and decided I need to resolve my depression before trying to transition

[–] [email protected] 22 points 7 months ago

thats unfortunate, they dont understand transition is the depression cure for us huh

[–] [email protected] 13 points 7 months ago

Throw them out the window

[–] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

I had the opposite happen, my therapist wanted me to "just try estrogen for two weeks" to see if my foggy brain symptoms would resolve. Scared me and I decided to keep working on my depression symptoms without her help. But I did keep in mind the more helpful things she did to help me crack my egg.

Can confirm there are a lot of therapists who fail to get informed about their patients' specific circumstances.

When you get one that breaks client confidentiality, maybe even contacting authorities for no good reason, then you've found one that deserves to lose their licence and get publicly shunned. That or find the corpse of a suicide in their ~~bedroom~~ office one morning.

this is for everyone cause let's face it there's nothing hotter than a cis guy in a skirt and eyeliner

[–] [email protected] 9 points 7 months ago

Or a kilt and war paint. I may have a specific fetish...

[–] [email protected] 19 points 7 months ago

For transmascs, I'd recommend cargo shorts. It's practically an essential component of the dad uniform.

About the possible complaining: I would say this is the perfect amount of detail/suggestion that can appeal just about everyone. You want to feel cute by wearing a short pleated skirt? Win! Care to view someone in a short pleated skirt? Also a win! Don't care to wear or view someone in a short pleated skirt? You are entitled to that opinion but probably not an active member of the community, or appreciate some peoples' desire to do one or both of these things. You win as well, And good will to all of the above.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 7 months ago

I'm really confused by what you wrote

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

some people's* desire

I used to be into trying out different types of knots in ties. You don't see them often and frequently got complements.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

My favorite tie knot is the Pratt-Shelby. The only thing not to like about it is the fact that the tie needs to be reversed when tying it.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

This is freaking cool.

I don't wear ties anymore but I thought I was fancy with my double Windsor knot.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

Yeah that's the thing, people really only do one knot, so it stands out.

Also, I love that his videos are mirrored so it's easier to follow along

skirt (masculine version)

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

Famous quote I remember:

"All clothing is gender neutral if you stop being a little bitch about it"

I don't know who said it but I remember the quote well, and it's true. Ultimately clothing is just cloth, it doesn't have any intrinsic gender to it. We are the ones who assign gender to clothing, and we can ignore or remove that assignment if we choose.

Tucker Carlson has done for bowties what Adolf Hitler did for red armbands

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago

the eleventh doctor took it back tho

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago (2 children)

How am I supposed to make a bowtie go spinny?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago (1 children)

not for you silly, for our transmasc brothers

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

a bowtie? wouldnt like a nice suit or something be way more appealing?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

Typically, but not necessarily always, a bowtie is worn in addition to other apparel, such as shirts and pants

Where can I buy a quality pleated skirt? I'd prefer something not 100% polyester. It seems like such a helpful passing item (two thirds rule) and yet not so easy to find. I found some denim skirts recently, and Ive gotta say that might be the ticket for me.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

I've bought some decent ones on amazon, and uniqlo also has one, but I'm not sure about what materials they are.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

You may check your local clothing store. Depending on how good they are they may have something for you.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Personally I like sewing my own stuff

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

😖 one day I wanna be part of that club

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Honestly I could sew you one and mail it to you if you want

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Through the magic of the internet, I already got one in the mail yesterday 😂

Not a what just the color black. Darkness makes me feel better. Though I am also photosensitive so that could be part of it.

Darude Sandstorm

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

I don't speak for everyone who wears them but for me it's usually a pair of shorts, the really short ones.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago
