Pretty sure your parents actually said "Wanna fuck without protection, because we're dumb teenagers?"

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago

That. Few 17 year olds actually make the deliberate choice to have a child.

Boost, since I used it for Reddit before the incident. Very faithful to the original, with a decent amount of customization and features.

same. i wish i was a girl

OH WAIT SHIT THE QUESTION IN THE POST uhhhhh memmy it does its job so i'm fine with it

[–] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

There's pills for that

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

I like Memmy too, I even tried to contribute to it but they did a rewrite before my commit could be merged

Sync. I was trying to use Jerboa back in June due to a lack of options, but it was a buggy mess. Liftoff also had numerous issues. Sync was the first stable offering that came out after rexxit.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago (2 children)

I've tried a lot of them. I really dig sync because of the swipe actions, and how smooth it is. I have a couple of minor quibbles with it.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 months ago

I wish I could have intimate relations with sync's swipe actions

Nothing's gonna be perfect, but fortunately there seem to be plenty of maturing apps to suit most people's needs.

Another Voyager user here. It looks and feels like Apollo did and that’s what I come from.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

I have only one gripe with Voyager and it’s that it doesn’t respect the dark mode setting when opening links in the built in browser, constantly frying my retinas in the process. I wish it had an option to disable the built in browser (this may be an iOS issue, as I’ve noticed many apps will flash a white screen at you when doing things like opening links in other apps). But, Voyager is my main nonetheless

I'm using Sync, our developer has a reputation for going on months-long vacations away from his creation, and many of us users have been sad that a lot of images & media won't load for us the last couple months.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

It still works good enough tho imo

[–] [email protected] 8 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Boost baby! Best app hands down

[–] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

closed source, but i've been a loyal user since the reddit days.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Yeah I'm on Eternity, too

Really living up to the name

Probably gonna switch cuz I really want the new features that the Lemmy devs add, like scaled sorting and instance blocking, and honestly I don't have confidence that the current dev has any free time to keep up with the updates

It's a shame, tbh

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

yeah, I really love eternity's ui and such, shame

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago

Currently using Voyager

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

I've been enjoying Voyager, it's pretty good

[–] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

I use voyager

[–] [email protected] 6 points 7 months ago

thunder works pretty well

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago

I'm on connect and liking it a lot

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I don't use Lemmy apps, only Desktop-ui for me.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

Desktop gang :3

I've tried 3-4 apps at work, but a lot of them had this "swipe to up/downvote a comment" feature that I couldn't figure out how to turn off because the setting wasn't where it was supposed to be (or maybe I'm just a little dumb). Eternity is okay, it doesn't have that feature, and I want to try Raccoon next week, but the pawb.social desktop UI is very nice and feels a lot like a desktop version of RIF, so that's what I use most of the time :3

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago

I have Jerboa installed, but I just use the webui. It better fits landscape use, and I mostly use my phone in landscape.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago

I switched from Eternity to Voyager, and I recommend the move.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Jerboa is actively maintained and just works. It's not the prettiest, but in black and set to Dracula it looks nice enough! It's also maintained by the Lemmy devs so I like that aspect.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

I just downloaded jerboa and your right, I'm actually really liking it so far

do you know if notifications are working?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Not personally! I turn em off so I'm not addicted to my phone as much, haha.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

ahaha fair enough

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago
[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

it lives up to its name — it'll take an eternity to get an update

i still use it due to its theming capabillities

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

Oh yeah same! Also I use voyager, I used to use jerboa but it has a few bugs and I didn't come back to it...

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 months ago

Giving thunder a try currently.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

I recently switched from memmy to voyager

And yeah funny thing about your meme is the people I’ve met who transitioned at 17 are on the whole so much happier with their choice than the people I know who had a kid at 17

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

I’ve tried Memmy, Voyager and a few others in the past and I’m currently using Thunder

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I'm on Voyager, installed it twice, APK, and play store and have the joy of having to swap between the two when one or the other doesn't work for some reason and notifications have never worked for either.

It's fine.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

it doesn't have the notifications permission

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

Yeah I figured that out around the same time I found out you could change the app icon through the settings.

Weird app. Don't hate it but definitely missing stuff.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

real

I'm using Sync

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

Phuk I wish I was a girl

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

Voyager because I used Apollo for Reddit on my iPhone. Now I'm off Reddit and have an android phone and I can still get that familiar experience. It's fantastic.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

voyager because it looks pretty and isn't bound to one platform

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

i use connect
