this is what i was wondering, if there's any way to download it then separate it from their app

Most games run on an executable and local database which is why pirating will always be a losing battles for game developers, the problem isn't download and run the problem is does it need to connect to Ubisoft services to use. It's like those singleplayer but still need to connect to the internet games. Either way theirs always a way to bypass these things. A good example is when I uninstalled steam but still had Terraria I can run the exe straight from the folder and it works.

Tons of Steam games don't have DRM, so you can just run them directly without Steam running. Many platforms enforce their DRM in all their games, so you need their app running to be able to launch games. Steam doesn't enforce anything like that, their DRM is completely opt-in.

I don't know if older Ubisoft games are available from Uplay without the DRM, but I would be very surprised if anything released in the last 10 years or so doesn't rely on their launcher.

Does assassin’s creed still have trailing missions?
