Any unusual want caused by unusual life circumstances. If the people who could know how to help you, don't want to because they can't related, they wont. If you don't have the bog standard life goals, you'll be stuck in the mud.

No, I shouldn't have had to explain to my guidance counselors why I wanted out of the remedial classes. I shouldn't have had to deal with 4 years in high school of them attempting to gaslight into believe that a career is the only thing I need to worry about.

It's Star Wars. Of course someone took an offhand comment that wasn't meant to be thought of past the scene it's in and wrote a whole story about it.

Fuck, not even an ally. I know one trans person who still supports Harry Potter franchise shit. Some people are myopic as hell.

The one on the left might just be trolling the ones on the right. At least they used the real flags and not the Trump branded ones. It's not very hard to remove/paint over the lettering on the tailgate once the election is over either.

This guy texted me around the time Feminist Frequency shutdown all proud and thought I would be happy as well. He was really confused that I just didn't care. I'm not a fan of Anita Sarkeesian, but she's not really involved in any of the games I want to play. It was such a none issue for me.

I try to steer the conversation to games I think are fun, but he just wants to complain about a subcuture he's not even a part of. Like, just play a fucking game instead of having these talking heads pump culture war bs into your ears constantly.

On the flip site, the biggest proponents of Sarkeesian I know irl also don't play video games and the few times I brought up video game thing, I was met with disinterest. Twitter really has rotted people's brains.

I reconnected with some friends I haven't talked to much since covid. I was making fun of how Meta couldn't figure out VR legs at the same time that the furries figured out digitigrade legs and somehow they didn't pickup that I wasn't making fun of furries and one started complaining about furries. Fucking weird that they occupy their headspace like that despite never interacting with them irl.

One of them was also complaining about his comics being blacklisted on various sites for politics when really, his art just sucks and hasn't gotten any better in the decades he's been doing it. The other was complaining about woke games he doesn't have a system to play them with anyway. If you spend more the 30 seconds clowning on Forspoken, you have issues.

Please add non-rich to that list.

Beakman's World!

I remember being annoyed by an episode of Mr.Wizard where he showed chemical reaction, but wouldn't explain it. Like, why even bother doing that on a science show?

They put those “teenager repellent” devices in malls. And what do you know, malls are dying.

My favorite use of those was teenagers using that as their ringtone so the teachers couldn't hear it.

I'm in a catch 22 situation. I want to go to a four year college, but I was previously placed in the remedial track and have a poor academic standing. If I go to a community college, I could improve my grades, but the material they cover is a replacement for high school classes and I'd be precluded from signing up for entry classes at the four year college. This seems like to would put me at a disadvantage when that finally happened and I would only be setting myself up for long term failure.

I'd consider CC if I could "transfer" in as a freshman to a four year, but the colleges I looked into all have rules against applying as a freshman if you have two years worth of credits. When I tried CC, the material was absolutely high school level just with smaller font in the textbooks.

I've been seeing a lot of usernames formatted "[lowercase][fourdigits]" or "user-[randomletternumbers]".

Normally, I'd assume that that just means the name was already taken and the numbers are manually entered to make it unique, but the formatting is too consistent. Is that something google is doing automatically?

The other one is real weird. Is that something some proxy sites are doing for anonymous posting?
