This actually reminded me to do it 😭

If I was just downloading stuff, I wouldn't be using a VPN. Not sure if it's illegal but it's just not worth it for the police to go after people who just download. With torrents, due to the way they work, you're also uploading. That's the reason you should use a VPN when downloading with torrents.

Set a reminder for when I'm home

The only way to find out it was you, would be to ask the VPN provider. Mullvad has a perfect track record of not keeping logs tho, so it's very unlikely they're gonna get anything from them. All that work wouldn't even be worth it for someone just downloading some music like you do.

I have my torrent client running 24/7 connected to a different VPN to my home country, Germany, as well and nothing's ever happened, even though Germany is pretty strict when it comes to this stuff.

A Minecraft Earth clone using this would be fucking awesome, maybe I'll get around to making it one day

If they wouldn't allow this, signing into YouTube wouldn't work

I've wanted to contribute code to open source projects for years at this point but looking at the code just seems so daunting. I've only contributed things like icons, translations and map data in OSM. I did start working at my first job this week as a software developer, so I hope I'll get more experience in working with existing projects.

Doesn't this require the devices to be connected to the same wifi?

Edit: OP already replied so nvm

I use LineageOS + microG and the Sparkasse app works at least

I'm trying to extract the frames of a video as individual images but it's really slow, except when I'm using jpeg. The obvious issue with jpegs is the data loss from the compression, I want the images to be lossless. Extracting them as jpegs manages about 50-70 fps but as pngs it's only 4 fps and it seems to continue getting slower, after 1 minute of the 11 minute video it's only 3.5 fps.

I suspect it's because I'm doing this on an external 5tb hard drive, connected over USB 3.0 and the write speed can't keep up. So my idea was to use a different image format. I tried lossless jpeg xl and lossless webp but both of them are even slower, only managing to extract at about 0.5 fps or something. I have no idea why that's so slow, the files are a lot smaller than png, so it can't be because of the write speed.

I would appreciate it if anyone could help me with this.
