Yeah. Would have been better if they just let a crisis that disproportionately affect poor people unfold /s

Sunscreen was invented in 1946, it looks like. Our ability to diagnose cancer has come a long, long way since then. So it would likely be difficult or impossible to answer this question, since 50 year old data about skin cancer incidence will be lower than modern level simply due to diagnostic advances.

Back in the day it was normal to die of skin cancer at 30. These days, we prefer to avoid it.

I know of peertube, which is similar to youtube.

But is there anything that is similar to instgram reels, tiktok type stuff.

I imagine it doesn’t exist because the hosting costs would be exorbitant, but I’m curious incase something like it does?

Grandmaster just means you have reached a certain elo and have completed certain requirements (win a number of games, against certain opponents etc), and won a certain number of competitions. There are around 2000 current grandmasters.

World champion is much much more selective, meaning literally winning the world championship.

Don’t get me wrong, grandmaster is incredibly prestigious, but is much more “common” than world champion.

(International Master is the rank below grandmaster).

The expression would make sense if used when you genuinely mean someone who has citizenship, but its current usage is just a synonym to “elderly folk”.

In April 1977 Panthers were key supporters of the 504 Sit-ins, the longest of which was the 25-day occupation of the San Francisco Federal Building by over 120 people with disabilities. Panthers provided daily home-cooked meals in support of the protest's eventual success, which eventually led to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)thirteen years later.

Their parents posed as Argentinian citizens, and Vladimir Putin greeted the children in Spanish. According to the Kremlin, they did not speak Russian nor did they know who Putin was.

Why did Russian President Vladimir Putin greet the children of just-freed Russian spies in Spanish?

The reason is straight out of an episode of the hit TV spy show “The Americans.”

Among the first prisoners stepping off the plane to greet President Putin was a slender brown-haired woman grasping the hand of her young daughter. She appeared to stifle a sob as she hugged Putin. He handed her a bouquet of purple and white flowers, and another to her daughter. Putin also hugged her husband and kissed their son.

Then, over the din of the airplane, Putin could be heard greeting the children with “buenas noches” — the Spanish phrase for “good evening.”

Their parents were undercover Russian spies who posed as Argentinian citizens living in Slovenia and went by the names Ludwig Gisch and Maria Rosa Mayer Muños. They were part of Thursday's massive prisoner swap involving several countries.

From wikipedia:

Contrary to popular conception, there is no evidence that societies relied only on barter before using money for trade.[73] Instead, non-monetary societies operated primarily along the principles of gift economics, and in more complex economies, on debt.[74][75][76] When barter occurred, it was usually between strangers or would-be enemies.[77]
