You fill out "quests" like if sidewalks have tactile ramps (for accessibility), what type of roads, road size, store hours, if bus stops are illuminated or have a shelter, bike spots, etc.

It's been a few days and I'm addicted. And it's a good way to contribute to OpenStreets and reduce supporting commercial map tools like Google Maps/Apple Maps.

I learned about it during a No Stupid Questions post about mobile games that reward you for walking.

I'm still relatively new and on the Global Leaderboard, ranked 1000 out of 5000.

Lol brb gonna share this with the CFO and watch them go into a panic. Going to bet they'll freak out and by the end of 2024, no more Java for us.

This is the golden ticket I've been waiting for.

A weird ass Microsoft ad.

I work with .net developers. It scarred them so deeply, don't even like to program outside of work anymore.

I went earlier this year. It was gorgeous.

The tourist areas were shit. There's a LOT of tourists treating the city like a playground. Trash everywhere. Loud idiots on the train.

If you go and assume a respectful personality, you'll be fine. Just don't be the 10% who fuck around.

I was blown away when I was promoted to a management position and realized none of the other managers I worked with read any books on management or had any real experience. Many fell into the management position and just kept doing fuck all.

Not saying the overeducated is better. We later got some Wharton grads who were thrown into the management space and they were the most dumbest MFs I ever met. Their theories would go against reality and at no point did they understand the work involved.

I aspired to work in education in college and took a lot of courses on adult education and how to teach people. I recognized that my favorite teachers in K-12 used those techniques , while realizing none of it was done at the college level.

I don't work in education but I find myself using those techniques all the time in the workplace. And there's a clear difference between my department's onboarding and capabilities versus others.

I worked in a bunch of tech.

Startup CEOs are often folks who rolled really high on Charisma and convinced a lot of people to give them money. Often they have a spark of genius, but if they were really smart, they'd hand over power to people smarter than them. That's how major companies are founded. Then they settle back down.

The dumb ones are egotistical and many end up failing upwards, as they continue being propped up by other until money disappears and they break enough friendships that they end up in jail.

There's stories of small towns hiring sheriff's which were related to the mayor.

And John Oliver's dive into Sheriff's in this Guardian Article: Tremendous amount of authority with low accountability'

Police reform is a uphill battle.

Behind the scenes, according to interviews with nearly two dozen people who requested anonymity because they weren’t authorized to speak to the press, the development of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was a tumultuous affair, plagued by countless delays. The game failed for a number of reasons, said the people, including a constantly shifting vision, a culture of rigid perfectionism and a genre pivot that was ill-suited for the studio. A spokesperson for Warner Bros. Games declined to comment.

Over time, the leaders’ vision kept morphing, most notably switching from an emphasis on melee combat to heavily focusing on guns. The change left some staff members wondering why protagonists such as Captain Boomerang, known for fighting with his namesake weapon, would suddenly pivot to gunplay.

In August 2020, after three years and multiple delays, Rocksteady finally revealed its plans, telling fans Suicide Squad would be released in 2022. But additional frustrations kept piling up. The project’s massive world and four playable heroes were a significant increase in complexity from the Arkham games. Engineers, under the impression they were rushing toward an immutable deadline, prioritized short-term fixes that later proved to be hindrances as the release date kept getting pushed back.

I wonder if families go out and bury it like this guy

r/confession • Chicken_Of_The_Year • 4d I threw a "adult-doll" along the roadside. There were media reports the next day.

Hi

I bought my adult-doll (xxx toy) a couple of years ago and hid it in the hunting room, hidden from my wife. Last year I decided to throw away the doll. It felt completely wrong to use it in secret from the wife.

Decided to get rid of the doll somewhere out in nature (Isn't room in a normal boss bin and it's embarrassing to take it to the landfill). Therefore had a spade to dig it into the forest. Drove off.. But I suddenly had bad timing and panicked and thus ended up throwing it on the side of the road.

Tragicomic as it all was, it ended up with the doll being found by people the next day. Someone who was on their way to work and got a little shock... It made headlines in the local newspaper, some regional and one national newspaper .. The DD was never traced back to me.

The state's GOP party recently sent out a campaign email that called LGBTQ+ people "barbaric," "creeps," “degenerates,” "groomers," "predators," “radicals,” and “reprobates."

After Clark posted the emails to social media, the official account for the Colorado GOP responded with a gif of pixelated fire and the message: "Burn all #pride flags this June."

Who's talking s*** about the mouse?

While Ezra was taking a nap in his crib, the family's Husky that they owned for eight years attacked out of nowhere.

"And to just bring awareness that it could be any dog at any time. Completely unprovoked, no matter what the history is," Chloe said.
