According to The New York Post, citing a report by The Telegraph, n sword that is regarded as France's "Excalibur" has vanished from its stone. Per the publication, locals in the French town of Rocamadour believed the sword, Durandal, had been lodged in rock for around 1,300 years. A main attraction for the town, the sword could be found stuck in a sheer rock wall about 100 feet off the ground

Authorities in France are working to determine how the sword was taken from the 100 foot sheer rock face.

The leader of conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation argued the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity will reinforce a “second American Revolution,” which he said would “remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.”

UPDATE, 7/2, 9:01 p.m. ET: Microsoft said it resolved the technical problems that had knocked out Xbox Live for nearly seven hours. “Users should no longer be encountering issues signing in to Xbox Live and services,” the Xbox Support account on X posted at 8:49 p.m. ET. “Thank you for your patience, game on!”

Both sides.

I constantly call out juniors who do things like ignore warnings, completely unaware that the warning is going to cause serious tech debt in a few months.

But Ive also unfortunately shrugged after seeing hundreds of warnings because to update this requires me to go through 3 layers of departments and we're still waiting on these six other blockers.

Pick and choose I guess.

The Douglas County deputy involved in the shooting of the five-year-old was allegedly in pursuit of a 25-year-old suspect, Rashauny Mike Palmer, who was fleeing on foot from authorities after escaping from the back of a police car. After a protracted chase Palmer allegedly attempted to carjack passengers at a local gas station. The deputy fired into the car that the suspect was attempting to take, and shot the child in the process, according to information from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

To repeat back, the suspect escapes out of a police car.

The officer responded BY SHOOTING AT HIM.

What's the worse that can happen?

Oh right kid was shot.

“Right now even with 60 vigor you get one-shot by nearly every enemy that’s not pure fodder (like the classical wandering nobles in the base game),” Steam user ‘Flippikus’ writes. “And the Scadutree fragments that should make your damage and defense increase (exclusively while in the DLC) don’t help that much and are mostly locked behind bosses.”

The negative reviews, which also continually praise the world’s design and art direction, can’t handle some of the other choices, especially the boss fights. “Bosses in this DLC are exceptionally weak. While visually they are fantastic, their balance is totally off,” ‘Chanddy’ writes. “The combos they do are really annoying to learn [and] way too long – sometimes chaining up to ten different attacks before you get even a brief second opening to return damage.”

In terms of performance, players are upset that Shadow of the Erdtree is locked at 60 frames per second, with micro-stuttering and a lack of ultrawide or DLSS support as well. These things can be fixed or added down the line, but as of right now, it appears that the expansion isn’t incredibly well optimized.

I found my Green game boy Pocket and saw the 1989-1996 copyright.

It looks so pristine. 😭😭😭

However, the took a strange turn when Xiong began railing about the state of politics in the nation’s capital, rattling off right-wing conspiracy theories, and telling the deputy that “getting a hotel would not be necessary” for his trip.

“Xiong began to attempt to control the conversation and began talking about his disapproval for government due to the sex abuse of children, some of which that has occurred by President Biden,” investigators wrote.

MAGA trump supporters who are PoC or a minority always makes me confused. They really aren't realizing these rallies, they're the butt of the joke, being uncle ruckus.

Someone post this to the Best of Lemmy community. This is gold.

When the news came around about boeing airplanes having fault issues last year, I actively avoid all boeing flights. If I was forced to use Boeing, I'd research the model and ensure it wasn't on the Boeing shit list. Of the five flights I had since 2023 when the Boeing shit show happened, I changed one of them and actively shopped for flights without Boeing.

If you think I'm a paranoid for doing this, I absolutely bet you there's millions like me. People who will rather pay extra to avoid a Spirit airline experience, you will pay for convenience. Families who would rather throw some more dough to ensure their vacation isn't ruined. Companies that would throw more dollars knowing the airline ticket they got wont result into a multi million dollar insurance claim that the company has to pay for.

So yeah, Boeing has a big fucking problem right now.

I know I'm preaching to the choir but for the people interviewing for their first software gig

First software gig? In this market, take whatever to get experience imo.

But that second/third/etc job? Culture, then salary, then everything else. Last interview I went to bragged about giving everyone brand new sneakers yet pay $25k less than average.

Haha most of us millennials in my circle are still struggling to own property.

A few years ago, I got this game for $2 and it absolutely scratched my Destiny 2 itch. Even bought the DLC at full price.

Then the usual Ubisoft BS rolled around and I just dropped it.

I typically buy all the "best game of the year" games at steep discounts. Some of them really embrace a "live" game service and require hundreds of hours a season, which isn't my thing.

But my most played game last year was Vampire Survivors, A single player game that looks like it came from the SNES era.

I was so anti gaming laptop for years but my wife swears by them. I think I just got burned from crappy laptops around the 2000s - 2010s, because her latest laptop is a beast. Not to mention most PC games aren't trying to push to cutting edge specs anymore.

So I've turned around and I think gaming laptops are great!
