With the original source code lost to time, Contato managed to rebuild it using available game printouts.

Beyond Shadowgate is set to release next month. This sequel is inspired by an undeveloped design document that was left behind 34 years ago when the original creators of the game, ICOM Simulations, shifted focus from original projects to licensed properties. I looked around for modern alternatives, but they seem a bit too complicated for my tastes. KA hits the sweet spot, because it's very simple to learn (almost "arcadey") and yet though to play.
