ads cost money to increase users to eventually profit from them later.

how would a decentralized lemmy profit from the increased users.

Any money spent on ads would be better off hiring more engineering resources and improving lemmy for the next time Reddit does something dumb prompting an exodus.

because you have to extrapolate.

publishers don't want you to own games just lease them so they can deprecate games and make you upgrade when they want to.

also no more mods or cheatengine to enhance the game or bypass microtransactions

reddit requires you to go out of your way to enable nsfw. tiktok is pretty heavy handed in moderation, but i still get some spam videos of nsfw content

i didn't think it was a big problem but i could see how some people are slower to react and pressure gets to them

but i also think it's weird when npcs wait forever for player input. but we're not there yet
