I like SchildiChat the most, since it has a nice UI and supports both E2EE and calls.

I use Syncthing

I [18NB] am starting uni in Edinburgh, Scotland tomorrow. Since I'll be living a good distance away from home, I was thinking of buying some pride merch and stuff.

However, it has crossed my mind that safety could be an issue. I wouldn't have thought that Edinburgh would have issues, but I think it's best to ask Lemmy: On the whole, is Edinburgh a safe place to be myself?

You may be abrosexual, of course; but that could also be an explanation.

We have a word for that: abrosexual.

Here's the flag:

Flag with five stripes: light green, pale green, white, pale pink, and hot pink

As you can imagine, our main in-jokes are watermelons and indecisiveness.

There's also a subreddit at r/abrosexual, and a community at [email protected] (although the latter isn't very active).

Man, it's annoying what characters like Mao and Stalin (as well as America) have done to those words.

Don't let the title fool you! This is not anti-FOSS!

Remember, of course, that Wickr has been owned by Amazon since 2021.

As for me, I'm abrosexual. I spend my time on at least five different parts of the Fediverse, in additon to Bluesky, cohost!, Tumblr, Station, Bubble, and Pinterest; as well as misc forums, personal websites, and Gemini capsules.

MSCHF made a device called an Alexagate, which jams the microphones using ultrasound and is turned on and off by clapping.

It's a bit expensive, though ($100).

Otherwise, as you mentioned, you can use DNS to block the tracking. NextDNS has a built-in blocklist specifically for Alexa.

  • OS: OpenBSD 7.5-current amd64
  • Host: Lenovo ThinkPad T400
  • WM: cwm
  • GTK Theme: Mint-L-Dark-Purple
  • Icon Theme: GNOME-Noble
  • Font: spleen

  • Shell: ksh
  • Browser: Tor Browser
  • Editor: nvim
  • Terminal: Sakura

I plan to make my own GTK theme for this machine, but Mint-L is a pretty good fit for now.

That would make sense
